Hello Everyone I wanted to buy a car.Â
My budget is around 10 lac and I am confused between Maruti Suzuki and Tata.Â
Which is Good Altroz or Swift ? Or should I go for any other SUV ?
Go with TATA,
Altroz is a good option but if also check Tata Punch. Punch has better ground clearance and safety.
Have Tata Tiago since 5 years.
Would never suggest you to buy a Tata car due to the after sales service alone.
Recently due to the HSRP implementation, went to the dealership after 3 years and the guy at the dealership said that search your number plate from the pile and fuck off. We do not install it here. Do whatever the fuck you can do Made a complaint on HSRP site, the manager was taken into conference and after 15-20 days I had to go once again and affix the same.
Had a minor accident 3 years back. They affixed the part within 15 minutes but for the invoice generation it took 4+ hours .
1) don't buy a car in december - buy in jan for higher resale value.
2) car buying decision is not based on company to be chosen - all companies have both vfm and meh products.
3) 10 lacs is your otr price or ex-showroom?
4) are you/other family members going to learn driving throught this car? if yes, don't buy a new car - you are going to crash/scratch/bump it for sure and it hurts like anything. buy a used manual car (after getting it evaluated by a known mechanic), learn driving properly and then buy an automatic.
5) service center availability makes or breaks things - if I were you and I had a citroen showroom around, IÂ would buy upcoming fully loaded c3 puretech turbo, on lower budget i would buy magnite XV, and on extremely tight budget I would buy an ignis delta. but if I was living in a 2nd tier town - marutis would be my only choice.
6) you shouldn't take advice on desidime to your heart, including mine.
Its good idea but one should keep in mind that its not about when you purchased the car but the year of manufacturing, if you purchase on new year(1st jan) you will still get last years model, second hand car market generally look for which year the car model is not which year it is registered.
So many people, so many suggestions.
I will just list out what not to do rather than point to multiple options which can suit your requirement.
- DO NOT buy Tata as your first car, stick to Maruti or Hyundai if you want peace of mind and good experience.
- DO NOT buy second hand as your first car, as you can not evaluate it well and will not enjoy the feel good factor ofÂ
brand new vehicle. Also 2nd hand cars are expensive too, and risky and more chances of repenting later on.
Not necessarily.
People could be doctors or professionals or have a spare car for spouse.
And in either case.. not gone through much running.
.
Directly finding such owners and buying even a second hand vehicle from them.. often gets fair price, a good vehicle and also similar luxury.. at a lesser and fair value.
.
Trust and some knowledge.. coupled with .. not being hasty.. is the key here.
It is not like ...all second hand vehicles start draining the wallet by way of maintenance or fuel costs.
As long as cabs are there stay away from faltu ka tension.

You got to elaborate a bit more to get some real good suggestions.
- 10L -- Is that the max budget?
- Any preference, brand new v/s pre-owned, safety, fuel efficiency, 4 seater/5 Seater or for now just you etc
- What's the usage looks like, yearly running, city driving v/s highways?
- Will this be the only car -- meaning are you looking for an allrounder ?
- Did you test drive any? If yes, which ones and which one you feel is good for you?
Since it's your first car, you probably are also learning to drive (so there may be scratches when you drive your new car); either way, we all know the car is a depreciation asset; in fact, it's a liability and not an asset. I would suggest you go for a second-hand/pre-owned car.Â
I was in the same situation and bought a second-hand Tata Tiago from Spinny (company), and I am more than happy with my decision. The reason for Spinny was they provide a 1-year warranty, and since I haven’t owned a car, I don’t have enough knowledge to know about car quality compared to buying from local second-hand car dealers where you can find a cheaper deal.
Think about it once about the second-hand car now, and maybe you can save up your cash for an upgrade to an electric car a few years later.
This makes another case for owning used, then one can go to any garage of their choice.
Also, since the increase in sales, i hope tata dealerships are improving in service, can only hope
My friend has Tata punch. And we went to a trip recently of 1000 km. We have grand i10, so my observations is based on this experience:-
1. Good road presence for the price. One of the hottest selling car in this segment. And in long trips, this is more comfortable when compared with hatchbacks.
2. It's not punchy. When compared to our 8 year old grand i10, I clearly felt the lack of power. But for first timers, I think it's OK and it does all needs.
3. Ground clearance is good.Â
Overall, I'll definitely recommend this.Â
Bought punch AMT and using from last 6 months. No regrets. No issues with after sales service in Bangalore. Solid Car with good suspension and ground clearance gives peace of mind. But you can observe AMT lag during gear shift which is expected and i am used to it. For me safety was highest priority, so choose punch.Â
tiago ev lelo bhai
But...where is the OP? 😦
Buy grand i10 nios and thank me later.
You may consider Kia Sonet and Tata Nexon. Around 9.6 lacs on Road.
Go for maruti breeza base model and modify according to ur need it is very excellent car for city and highwaysÂ
