Seller cloudtail was doing extremely well, why wouldn’t they continue the business? Maybe because this timeline was pre-decided long back to overcome the then rules. Slowly when nobody bothers anymore, even that rule of ‘not one seller can have more than 25% sale on ecommerce portals’ is not being taken seriously.

I don’t understand this system but what I know is govt never cleared 100% FDI in retail. So how can Amazon “buy out” Cataraman’s share as such? And moreover, why will Amazon “buy out” this venture only to close it? Maybe they’ve found the loopholes they needed or it is just another dummy partner or some shell company. Who knows! But all I’d want is this thing shouldn’t hamper fast delivery experience we got from Cloudtail.

Noticed that some electronics which were available on cloudtail are being shifted to Seller named “Electronics Bazaar Store”. This might become one of Amazon’s own small seller to bypass seller quota ecommerce rules. Just like Darshita Electronics, Green Mobiles, Rocket Kommerce.
