Hi dimers,

I gotto meet someone in delhi, they can come at arrival area, can i go out of delhi airport with 1hr layover terminal 3 domestic flight,

I only have backpack, No check in bag,

The airline is air india express

Yes, one can.

But if for any reasons (including the security checks queue) there is a situation wherein the next sector/flight closes the gates (and passenger is delayed) then that is on the passenger.

For such short layovers, as soon you come out of the flight, airline staff help you with speedy transfer and keep shouting destination flight and time, so, not advisable at all to go out, meet someone and enter again as you'll have to steer through normal crowd whereas at domestic transfer, it's comparatively very less crowded, simply go for domestic transfer and airline staff will help you cut through line for security check ... similar thing happened with me when I had a layover of 50 minutes at IGIA T3.

Can 'feel' your agony, but for younger people it might be 'possible'.
Like if travelling with someone else who can be at the baggage carousel and try to ensure that the (air)bus does not leave till he returns.

If really that important and the visitor has the time, willingness to go through the hassle of entering the airport,
then booking a fully refundable DEL-JAI flight is an option.
Costs of cancellations might be just a couple of hundreds.
Instead of Jiggly having to go out, the other side comes till the internal airport area, then cancels the DEL-JAI ticket for 400-600₹ or less and gets to meet Jiggly.

it normally takes min 30-35 min from security to boarding gate at T3. boarding ate closes 20 min before flight. it also takes 15-20 min to get down from flight and get to arrival terminal. so unless you have min 2 hrs layover, do not even think about it.
