Credit Card
If you've DCB I believe it must be of some good limit. So, I advice you not close this as it might impact your credit score and credit history.
AFAIK HDFC not offering LTF cards now. If you've other cards, how about downgrading to moneyback plus?
That would be like finding alladin lamp and throwing it away.....

HDFC don't report credit limit....so your point of it having good credit limit is useless

No you can, just need 8l+ limit and 7l+ spend in last 6 month on dcb. Mail grievances for upgrade and it would be done.
Sudarshan61 wrote:But it reports the highest utilized credit so far. Having a good limit might help in emergency situations. Is DCB some other type like rupay?

It's a hit or miss regarding upgrade from dcb to Infinia.
Holding DCB makes more sense nowadays. Lots of perks and added threshold spend vouchers. Its acceptance has definitely gone up with all banks updating their Pos software.
Sone pe suhaga would be Infinia along with dcb as an add-on (or vice versa) so you can mint points through SmartBuy with Infinia and use DCB perks to enjoy the redemption.

Does HDFC combine points account for both the cards ? Or both cards will have separate points accounts ?

using sbicashback /axis ace/bob etrena/au lite instead of dcb
DCB is total waste in comparison to Infania/Magnus. Yes it is better than other hdfc card except infania but it is not worth 10K + GST anymore.
I have hardly made any transaction since last 6 months- since it is LTF and i am still holding else would have closed by now

If using this many good cards then no point in taking any premium tier card unless you know some loophole to manufacture spend & earn reward points(like what's happening with magnus nowadays).

Withdraw 1 lakh cash from ATM every month & get effectively 6.6% worth GVs in form of bonus reward points so even after paying back the bill immediately for cash withdrawal with around 0.6% finance charge still net profit of around 6%.

i dont use reward points for travel and while redeeming to cash it again becomes 1/2 ,so seems useless now.
even if spend on travels , we get upto 25% off coupon/discount if we book directly so again we get .75% of value only

Points from 2 HDFC cards are not combined. Posted separately.
Ramta_Jogi wrote:Not anymore guess. II am planning to do the same as well. In Jan I am going to close my DCB card. It was a dream card in those 10X days. Nowadays, except buying Amazon/Flipkart GC on SmartBuy, I don't see any useful purpose. That would be like finding alladin lamp and throwing it away.....
Guys I have regalia, do the reward points expire or should I keep accruing. I have around 40k points. What to do suggest. Points to Cash redemption ratio is very bad

All of the above things will make the IT department to ask you for the clarification of the deposits. If the cash deposits are more than 2L per year and the CC bill is more than 10L / bank / year or the accumulated CC bills of all banks are significantly higher than the filed ITR you'll get rectifications from the IT dept.
So, kindly be aware of this and avoid this kind of rotation for a petty gain.

You advised the greatest person against money rotation on DD to not to rotate money.
@guest_999 must be chuckling hard I guess.
@Abhinav_Pune close the paid DCB if you do not intend to spend much with it. I have a similar infinia which I am keeping only as its LTF for me, otherwise I am very rarely using it nowadays. Though it was a heavily used card last year with all that smartbuy and other offers going on.
You might want to try to see features of millennia cc, even with the devaluations it might be useful for 5% CB on its partners, still working for all txns on amazon. If you need lounge features with a good forex rates regalia might seem good too.
I have DCB as LTF, does it make sense to upgrade to paid Infinia?

If you can't look forward to redeeming reward points on travel then ofcourse no travel or reward card makes sense. Neither Infinia nor DCB nor magnus or vistara Infinite or even Amex plat for that matter.
Might as well stick to some 5% cashback card.

Mind it! 😹
Oh! The irony!
LegendKiller007 wrote:In the same situation. I have a LTF DCB. However, now only the metallic variant of Infinia is available, which is not LTF.I have DCB as LTF, does it make sense to upgrade to paid Infinia?
I do not want to give up my LTF DCB. Checked for Infinia as an Add-on card, but my RM told me that requires a 12+ limit to hold both. So going for DCB in the meanwhile.
