If you have less usage, Go for the Petrol Scooter.
Any electric scooter with less than 8 years of battery warranty is a big no in my opinion. Battery replacement will cost around 25K at least. So calculate accordingly.
Also, Keep all the points by @B3A5T in consideration.
buy ola s1 pro. best scooter currently.
- if any issues happen like roadside breakdown, can it be repaired by local mechanic?
- Tier 1 / Tier 2 city
If you can sort these issues then you can safely take an Ather/ OLA S1 scooter.
wait sometime and get Ola S1 Air. Most VFM
Go green with electric vehicles is a marketing gimmick imho.. The lead acid batteries they use cause much MORE HARM to environment than smoke released from fuel vehicles.
If you have heavy usages then go for it .
I have Ola S1 and am very happy with it, good thing I didn't buy the pro version as the 90 to 100 km range is good enough for me, I have to charge twice a week.
The Gujarat government paid a 20k subsidy after this subsidy my final price was 98K, I paid 118K originally to Ola (after fame 2 central gov subsidy)
We really enjoy driving it with music on and overtaking past everyone on every signal, folks in expensive cars stop and ask us questions about our Ola s1 like is music system built in, how much range it gives and so on. I have light blue color.
The only negative I have is that the seat height is a bit too much for my wife so make sure to test drive for all members of the family that will be using it.
My recommendation is to go for the Ola S1 if your daily run is about 40-50 km, you will have enough spare range for emergencies. If your daily run is more than that then go for S1 pro.
Is the battery replacement cost that high or that frequent?
Assuming other maintenance charges are average.
Have seen users of generic/assembled scooterettes too being reasonably satisfied... despite average or below average regular use.
