We can donate meals via zomato it has partnered with akshaya patra which provides meals to flood affected people. And for godsake do not politicise this issue on who is good or bad or which political party has done the most .instead its good we focus on how to help them .Because they need our support and assistance . I think it’s better we send food or relief material instead of money because chances are high Money will get missused not all wallets will but some may indirectly . And some instead of helping are making immature comparison which needs to be stopped and use your energy to focus on what best can be done for brothers /sisters in Kerala.
People who are willing to donate can donate. Its not the time and place to fight in the name of Sangis, commis, congis, hindu, muslim, Christian etc..
Did my first part by sending few stuff i had in excess. Detergents, blankers, tees, jeans, hoodies, disposable plates etc. Planning to go with them in their next trip for volunteering. They have less people to volunteer and food, undergarments and napkins are the most needed items..
Gonna use my bb vouchers for this, i need instant off voucher that will work in big bazaar bangalore. 2 or 3 would do, missed to procure them with the missed call.

What was the reason for this flood? Excessive rains or some human-made cause?
Keralites please figure out and understand the causes and rebuild your state in such a strong way that by next year you are able to laugh and love rains. Please try to eliminate that human cause, ensure proper drainage, excellent minimization of waste and effective disposal of the rest. All the best to you guys.

On all packed food items you donate just write with a permanent marker if you can “Meant for Kerala flood victims” and that way chances of them being misused is reduced. One of the NGOs who were collecting relief materials made everyone do that and requested everyone to spread this so it doesn’t get sold anywhere.

This new seller is listed as part of “Habitat for Humanity” NGO but I am not sure if it’s genuine seller or some new seller taking undue advantage.
P.S.: Want to send food related items and he’s the only seller on Amazon as part of NGO which has few food related stuff. Contributing through Amazon Pantry directly isn’t working as the address for “Kerala Flood Relief – “Goonj”” isn’t getting listed.

Better than giving to chief minister’s relief fund or giving to ngo’s (who take commision), contact your friends in kerala and help the needy through them. cmrf and ngo, will take time…

Is it fine to give cloths? Not the new one but in really good condition which can be used in this needy condition.
Use this as a thumb rule.. will you feel comfortable when you are in a situation like that and someone gave you those clothes and will you wear it?

from people asking choppers to come down just to take selfies, using free cab for movies and restaurants, using free metro service just to visit devastating areas – all these happened in past 4 days ( not mentioning all)

For those who are not aware, Coorg (part of Karnataka, on the Kerala border) is also severely affected. The road are cutoff due to landslides and Army is having difficulty reaching there. Water is receding in many parts of Kerala. People are trying to go back to their homes.
