Nobody denying that, a lot of selfless people involved in the rescue mission and saved a lot of life. If you conned by some doesn’t mean the entire world is corn mans.

The state govt was asked for a 2000 crore of immediate relief and what they initially paid was just 100 crore. State can rebuild themselves but can’t they ask for assistance if they are paying tax for a while?

And customs were taxing/ blocking materials over the paper issue, but that has been sorted. I coordinating relief activities here and raising funds from middle east, I’m aware about the ground situation very well.

And your gobermint should have implemented Gadgil report which forewarned these calamities yet morons of the highest order and some vested interests from a certain religion met Italian mummy and she stayed the execution of recommendations. The elected leaders even said they will beat black and blue who tries to come there. There was even reports of how the gobermint incompetently instead of gradually releasing waters opened shutters all at once. This is what happens when you don’t respect nature. I have already provided link in a previous comment of mine. I empathize with Keralites but this calamity was partly their own making. I will call a spade a spade even if that makes me sound less human.

The District Collector from Kodagu (Karnataka) has said they have more than ample food and any additional supplies could go waste.

For any admin who might be reading through. I am not the one who started this fight but I will definitely not stand by idly, while people spread false information and has selective outrage and are being bigoted towards my country.

No I want to help flood victims by donating old Chaddis, Amazon charity also prompting us to buy NEW chaddis for flood victims, a warm chaddi is very much required in rainy kerala.

In Kerala, fishermen were the real heroes. While the police, fire force, army, navy and the government administration did a good job, around 600 fishermen came with their fishing boats and rescued thousands or people. They were familiar with being in rough waters. After the job was done, they left without waiting for anyone to thank them. Kudos to them!

By not declaring the floods as a natural disaster, did the Centre undermine the seriousness of the tragedy?


I need to make it clear in no uncertain terms that the Government of India was forthcoming and responded positively. Prime Minister Narendra Modiand home minister Rajnath Singh visited the flood-hit areas and have been understanding the situation fully. The army, navy, air force and coast guard have been fully involved with the rescue operations from the beginning and they were part of the planning and execution. As regard to the interim advance, I am happy that they announced Rs 600 crore as two lots (Rs 100 crore after the first spell of floods and Rs 500 crore now) and I am hopeful that they would assess the situation and grant more assistance in the coming days. We have also requested the union government to consider the calamity as something of severe nature to provide all-round assistance, including from multilateral organisations for rehabilitation and reconstruction.

Odisha government on Saturday deputed 275 fire service personnel with 76 life saving power boats, 10 power lights, 5 power saws, 15 search lights and other rescue equipment to flood-hit Kerala to join the relief and rescue operations.

Replies to the hate comments are a waste of time. Contrary to the comments war here the floods have actually bought Kerala together- religions, parties-everyone. Everyone worked together to survive and help- that’s all that matters. For those spitting politics and religion- we just feel sorry for you -I just hope you could come and experience the togetherness here, it would be a mindopener for you.

Just to put this information out here, There is no official confirmation/communication from U.A.E that there will be a 700cr financial assistance to Kerala. Not even in the newspapers coming from U.A.E. Just the words of CMO Kerala and Indian newspapers that did report they did based on Vijayan’s statement. I am happy to stand corrected if someone gives me a legitimate source. Also the policy of not accepting Foreign donation was implemented after the 2004 Tsunami disaster.

Some people are just here to spread hate against GOI with a “particular motive”.
