Hello guys I closed my hdfc moneyback plus card on sep 27 this year post clearing all dues.
But even today its showing active.
Had closed this low end card hoping to get a better offer as I'm having preferred account with 3 lac MAB but now I fear I'll never get an offer till this closed card shows as active
Please help with advice. Should I close this account and open a new one to get a good credit card offer?

Get NOC from bank,then no need to worry whether it's active or closed.
Also, cut the card into 4 pieces.
As per latest rbi guidelines, card provider is supposed to close the card within 7 days of receipt of closure request from customer. Failing to do so will attract penalty of 500rs/day for every day delayed & is payable to customer by company.. Complain & get bumper compensation @ 500rs/day!
Did you try contacting your RM for a better card? With preferred there are good chances of getting Regalia First, Regalia business and Reglia if you've a long standing relationship with the bank.
Yes they offered me Regalia ltf basis 2 bills smartpay but on a paltry limit of 1 lac on 7 june so I rejected (I was classic at that time but had MAB 3 lacs), I had asked for diners black but they didn't give stating my limit is not 5 lacs.
Did you get any pre approved cc offers after closing this card? if yes then when?
Yes, I got offered Regalia on 11 Feb & Regalia Gold from 5 May till 12 Jul with 3 lakh limit

Mail grievance.redressal with screenshot asking them to do it at the earliest
Hdfc will never do it automatic
I got mine closed in August. It was supposed to get closed by October as per their communication. But it remained active, so I wrote to them in November. It disappeared from netbanking but still showing up in mobile app.
