HDFC CLASSIC Downgraded to STANDARD

As the title says, my HDFC account has been downgraded to STANDARD from CLASSIC. Though I was not maintaining the MAB, it was close to the requirements. I have read posts on DD, some people mentioned that they don’t maintain MAB and still keep CLASSIC status. 

I understand that they will start charging me for Platinum Debit Card and other banking services. What is the best way to avoid these charges?

same happened for others as well including me, my MAB was above >1.5L always and still got downgraded to Standard on Dec 31st. thought this could be some year end glitch. 

RM mentioned that still I am mapped under classic banking programme

I complaint on twitter and my RM, bank manager and region head called me and assured that I am still in classic program. I asked for written confirmation and bank manager did that too. It’s indeed a tech glitch. You may try twitter way which is powerful. I never thought it would make even the region head to call me at 9pm

My RM said Twitter complaints or queries are very high priority and it usually give them 1hour TAT for resolution so in future my RM has asked me to refrain from using Twitter and assured he will do everything he can do to resolve my queries on priority grinning

I too got a very similar reply from my RM for the mail sent to classic support email id. 
Will send them the screenshots and see

Called my RM – he has left HDFC bank and joined Bajaj Finance. He doesn’t have any replacement that is he aware of. I guess I am lost.

Don’t worry just send a mail to classic banking mail id, you will get a call from your new RM

@sliced @prem4998 seems like this is a frequent bug with HDFC got changed back to Standard again not sure when it got updated thou , is it the same for you guys too ?

What is the minimum requirement to upgrade from standard to classic?

Are there any genuinely useful perks of being a classic customer? I am thinking of shifting my salary account from HDFC to Axis

why do you want to do that bro? Axis bank is worst bank in terms of customer service, lots of consolidated charges etc, you will regret your decision later.

Nothing useful being classic except for a personal RM who will annoy you every week or month sweat_smile

But I would prefer his annoyance than moving to Axis.

Minimum requirements is 1L

Please stay away from Axis, it’s one of the worst or even the worst bank in my opinion when it comes to customer service. Most employees are pathological liars and if you’re just interested in their products, ALWAYS take the words of their staff in writing. Ask them to mail using their official email and tell them that you’ll revert.

My account got downgraded too. Last time on dec 31st it got downgraded to standard, and after 3 days it was changed to classic again. 

This time I don’t know whether it is a glitch or real downgrade.

I’m classic banking customer. I can see preferred banking upgrade offer in offer section of INB. Not upgrading though, as I don’t see any additional benefit in it

seems like its a frequent issue at hdfc , will get sorted automatically in some days I guess

Did you maintained balance above 1 lac ?

@IamRage May be. Required average balance still shoiwng as 0. I hope its a glitch. 

I ordered platinum debit card last month. Didn’t activate it yet. Now I don’t know what to do if that downgrade is real.

Its normal account. My Required Average Balance in Netbanking showing as 0. Thats why I am still hoping its a glitch. If that changes, then I guess account is downgraded.

regular savings account which requires 19k as MAB ?

was it ever salary account in past?
