HDFC Diners Black and Infinia points devaluation for cash redemption

HDFC has reduced the cash redemption value for Diners Black (DCB) and Infinia cards from 50p per point to 30p per point.
I hope that people were not using points for cash redemption but it was still an option to redeem points near expiry.

I am now worried if they will reduce the smartbuy point redemption from 1 to 0.75 or 0.50 also . Not a good news
Surprisingly, reductions are done only for top tier cards .. others are left as is.
My guess is that it is done to offset the expenses on new montly milestones (DCB card) and target spend offers that they started offering.
Did u get some notification or email?
No email or notification from HDFC, I read it on a blog

I need a little help
Memberships are mostly waste except az prime and to some extent timesprime. Monthly milestones like tatacliq and even bms gv are more interesting, esp bcoz they can help in achieving in parallel tgts like 10x and 5L annual for fee waiver… More so if some sale comes on az/fk.
why?
Monthly 80k milestone is good: Meeting gives Tq and BMS gvs each month, which is actually useful. Ans if one foes this, then annual tgt also would get strong support, almost naturally getting met. This is imp in new system, where failing to cross 5L fee waiver tgt can be disastrous if fee would become applicable and no compensating points also would be there (like earlier system).
Monthly spend offer of 80k applicable for Diners clubmiles?
No, 80k spend offer is for Diners Black only
Yes Just noticed that. I have 50k points for Infinia, so only option is to book Air tickets & hotel booking . Any other suggestions for getting Max value
Nope, for maximum value only flights and hotels.
For dcb they have increased yearly charges and now reduced rewards
DCB should get devalued in near future, I don’t think they will be able to continue giving same rewards to both LTF and annual-fee paying DCB customers. One way would be to upgrade fee-paying DCB customers to Infinia or launch a new premium Diners card.
