HDFC Millenia Debit card vs Easyshop Platinum debit card

Hello dimers,
I hold a HDFC Savings Max account (MAB 25k) which includes a free Easyshop Platinum debit card.
However, I was thinking to get Millennia debit card instead since it beats platinum card in almost all areas related to cashback. For me, airport lounge access does not matter. So I have two questions related to this:

1. Can I get Millennia DC for free replacing existing Easyshop Platinum debit card? Is there a specific channel by which this can be done (branch visit or net banking)?

2. Why is Easyshop considered a better card than Millennia? I have seen people using it to get 1% cashback for credit card payment but won’t Millenia give better returns, in-spite of being cheaper? (CC bill payment via Mobikwik should be an online spend right, giving 2.5% cashback?)

Point 2 is wrong.. mobikwik will not be considered as online spend but it will be considered as wallet reload (1%) so it will be same as platinum dc but platinum dc has higher capping. Also, cashback for millennia takes 3 months to be credited where as for platinum dc it's credited in 2-3 days. The only place millennia beats platinum is that in smartbuy it gives 5%( card benefits) & 5% (smartbuy benefits) instead of 5% on platinum dc making Amazon voucher more valuable on millennia than platinum

I was also holding Platanium DC of HDFC. Some dimer suggested to get Millenia over it. Applied Millenia DC through netbanking as upgrade, and received it.
Both DC have different card nos. Not sure now platanium works or not.

Does millennia debit card have same limitations of minimum 2500 redemption and expiry within 1 year?

I have requested for Millennia debit card today through HDFC Netbanking portal (It was showing me a charge of Rs 500 even in Savings Max account). No SMS or email confirmation though. I will update here if I get the card or not, and what happens to the previous card.
Just thinking about this, such a big bank like HDFC doesn’t have proper framework or notification systems in place. Customers are left wondering what will happen next? pensive

If I upgrade to millenia or platinum in between a month, can I get cashback benefits on both cards?

Also, if there is a pending cashback from smartbuy or say Millenia’s 90 days back transaction, will I still get it, if the card is blocked before?

@Sudarshan61 @prem4998

Yes.

do note that points for both cards are categorised differently…so if you don’t have minimum points you won’t be able to redeem. So plan accordingly

i am totally confused which to choose, millenia or easy shop debit card,

Debit card get seperate cashback capped at (400 for Millenia DC, 750 for Easy shop DC) and smartbuy get seperate cashback ? so we get 2 benefit ?

Monthly limit :

millenia DC – monthly cashback limit/card = 400 rs

easy shop DC – monthly cashback limit/card = 750 rs

Amazon GV :

If i use smartbuy with this DC and buy amazon GV worth 10k means, which card give more benefit

Millenia DC – how much benefit — ??

Easy shop DC – how much benefit — ??

how to get maximum benefit on cards smile

Regarding Smartbuy Amazon gv..
U can buy max 5k only now..
And there are additional charges (handling charges+GST or whatever) in Smartbuy for buying Amazon gv..

I think best option is open SavingsMax account in HDFC. Then you can get EasyShop RuPay Platinum (Amazon offer + 1% cashback). Get Millennia as credit card. 😄

Hahahah…I don’t think rupay version of easyshop platinum card gives 1% cashback😄

Any conclusion  which one is better

Depending upon usage. Millenia has a ₹400 per month limit on cash back and Platinum has a ₹750 limit. If you pay a lot of credit card bills and utility bills through hdfc smartpay, then Platinum will be better but for most people I feel Millenia is better

How to get 1% cashback on paying cc bills using Platinum DC?

With my salary account, I received Easyshop Platinum debit card but accidently I upgraded to Millenia debit card, i want to cancel the upgrade. Is there any way? @Ghask

Having gone through various discussions over this issue as to "Which card is better Millenia or Platinum?", I personally reckon it depends on one's usage. for Cashback on a comparatively more number of platforms Millenia would be better WHILE for CC Bill Payment, Platinum is no brainer.

Then there is a second thought about it, if one has got Credit Card, then he/she would make a use of it in order to avail its rewards/cash benefits rather than using debit card . So why would one use debit card?

On the other hand, after enjoying cashbacks/rewards on CCs come here to pay its bill and enjoy yet another benefit (using Platinum Debit Card).

Whoa....!!! Phew...!!😀
