Quitting anything requires self-control. So, if you want to quit smoking, don't buy it again. That's the only way. Nicotine tablets are a waste of money. Instead, change your eating habits and spend on candies, chocolates, fruits, juices, shakes, etc. to get rid of the urge to smoke. You won't need these diversions for long though. Perhaps a couple of months or 3 max. Then you'll be on your own. Start exercising so that you know what you achieve by avoiding fags.

I don't know any solution .Many methods available if follow one path is ok . But everything depends on you . Everyday is new day . But you can't force anyone to do that or this . You have to take your own decision. In my neighbour my close relative smokes it occurs that person problem but he don't hear anyone do what whatever he wants to do . So I think what you do or not do depends on you . You have independent life so choose what u want to do or not want to do . In general as per my experience if any habit if you want to cut this in one day u will be more addict of that habit for longer days . So take slow steps in cutting habit without disturbing your peace of mind . You have good sign that you think of it seriously. So I think you can do it .

In my case.

After taking antidepressants it killed my urge of smoking.

Seems like I was never fond of smoking but the depression was the trigger and that's the depression that made me smoke.

Previously I wanted to quit smoking several times but never succeed.

But after taking medication forget urge I can never think of smoking.

So look into yourself if you got some kinda trigger, eliminate that trigger, this is the most effective way.

Imo most of the times this is not the addiction that makes you smoke again and again but a certain trigger that makes you do it.

I used to be a heavy smoker for around 10 years and now completely smoke free for 5 years straight. It's extremely difficult initially. I wasn't able to quit in one go. I remember once I quit and then again started smoking within a couple of months. Many times I failed within one week or a couple of days. But what matters is at last I was successful. There is an application named 'smoke free' by David Crane which was helpful to me. I hope you will be able to quit. It's not impossible. Don't lose hope.

The fastest way is to stop being with people who smoke first and talk to your family members about this and see if they can join you and help you (they will help in Reminding you again and again) Make it loud and clear to everyone around you so they will call you out when you try to smoke next time. Also avoid your go to place from where you buy it from. Start taking cold showers and repeat to yourself (you will not smoke again) when under the cold shower this is a daily chek for you and make sure this is the only time you think about it if you find yourself craving eat some sweets that may help with the temptation. And last and the best way forget that there is anythig called as cigarettes in this world once you do that you wont have to fight with it and just accept that there is nothing called as cigarettes in my world its a psychological hack to help you stop obsessing over the thing you want to quit.

Hope this was helpful and im sure after readig this post you will forget all about cigarettes just like you forgot about your early childhood days
