I am in banashankari Bengaluru I have a flight to catch on 18th anyway I can reach airport in a cheapest way.Dont assume things I am alone and don't want to spend bomb on cabs.Any train or anyother means

Why is the public transport in Bangalore so costly in general?
It doesn't make sense for public transportation to cost this high in a congested city like bangalore.

You mean to say airport bmtc Or normal city service because the quality of service & busses are good in blore in certain parameters but the bmtc was part of a partial privatisation during early 2000s so the ONLY PSU transportation firm to be profitable in many years is BMTC & Ksrtc that's the reason for being the price is what you pay
I mean the way public transportation is not meant to be profit making is good in certain conditions but overly burdened and inefficient isn't also good that's a different view altogether
blore has seen growth at this scale in past 2 decades only so planning of multimodal transportation like -local - brts -cycle - tram - mono -pods - metro weren't planned or present to a large extent.... So i am solely speaking of BMTC here and if you consider cabs & Autos as public transport that's not the case either

Check this out. I used the ac buses which comes to 250 rupees. But this one seems to be the cheapest and also stress free in respect to traffic
