Hi Folks,
I have decided to buy a small car for personal use & selected Hyundai Eon.
I made this thread to know personal reviews of the dimers who have good knowledge about this or who are using this model.
Also help in selecting the Correct version as there are 4-5 versions.
Also please let me know how is Renault Kwid ?
Thanks in advance

Guys any idea ?
When I read the title of your thread, my first thought was Kwid and there in description you have it already.
Go for it bro Kwid is the best in compact category.
PS: I would choose Kwid over Eon

I personally wouldn’t suggest to buy any car below a budget of 6.5 L. Better go for a car which is second hand and wasn’t used more. There seems to be some complaints in this car and one can find mix of reviews there. Nothing special you can expect in this price range. Some reviews below:

Excellent choice, have one at home of 2013 make. There was a newer more powerful version launched in 2014, nearabouts 1000cc & that is the model I’d suggest. Eon is probably the best car in sub 400k range, if you want AMT then you have excellent choices as well but for manual EON rules IMO.

do read this once
@BUTTERFLYBOY I think You know why i am forced to have this in low budget, i would definitely buy a SUV after sometime
nano is much more spacious than eon.
if it’s your first car, try to up your budget a bit more n go for something like wagonr.
BTW kwid production is stopped coz of engine issues (loud noise).
@Beinghuman : Go for Renault Kwid if you need to select one from eon and kwid. Its far better than EON

Already having one at home..
Low budget i have to invest some money , somewhere else , i just need to travel 100-120kms weekly once/twice.
Kwid and eon both failed the safety test, conducted by global ncap.

I suggest OP to go through this :-

And IMO,
Hyundai Eon : A worthy option since- quality built, spacious with lot of storage space in cabin (for the segment) and compact so fun to drive and ownership cost is like Marutis.
Renault Kwid : Hottest hatch in town (this segment), gives feel of a bigger car, sturdy built will last for years, service quality is good in most cities (but its limited), Most value for money in my opinion since on a 5 Star Hotel lobby, out of the three – Kwid, Eon and Alto, You know which one wont look out of place . KWID ! I have a duster since 4 years, 1 lakh km. Pretty happy with it.
Datsun RediGo : Another latest option. Cheap and simple cute looking latest car. Nothing great about it. But you may get discounts on this! (Nissan owned brand)
It is a sibling to Kwid (sister companies- Renualt and Nissan)
P.S. I heard a moderator can promote newbies to Deal cadets if he/she likes their comments.
hyundai eon boot space is bigger than i10
kwid is more latest and eon somehow has not captured the market.
kwid gives a bigger hatchbag look while eon is really tiny as seen on roads
r u planning to use CNG ?
i am sure you might have selected EON based on its stylish cues and not based on its performance and overall reviews… suggest you to completely avoid EON !! better stick to the market leader in low budget… alto…!! if you feel there are too many alto’s on road…suggest you to go for “Tiago”
@Beinghuman I strongly suggest you to go with Renault Kwid. Current best in class. Second highest ground clearance(180mm) and boot space of 300 liters(it is very big)in class. It has MediaNAV multimedia and navigation system which features a first-in-class seven-inch (18 cm) touchscreen display. My sister and jiju wanted to buy a car in same class as you want and did research and finally they selected Kwid and even they were almost ready to book kwid. But when they heard about launch of Datsun Redi go,they decided to wait.
I watched AutocarIndia show on ETnow last sunday and watched review of Datsun Redi go. Kwid is superior then redi go. Although despite having same engine, redi go’s engine is not as smooth as kwid’s.
Kwid is clear winner with so much offering compared to other cars in class. In my city(Ahmedabad) there is minimum 1 – 1.5 months waiting is on kwid.
Renault Kwid sales cross 50,000 units in 7 months; over 1.25 lakh bookings so far

I was going to suggest Wagon R (CNG fitted) but u already own that
Gear lever vibration issues in Eon – new versions are free of this – Feb2013 onward some say.
Kwid is my choice.

I am just a layman in terms of cars n bikes
The only car i know is my dad’s one
Hyundai i20 elite. Because of maintenance issues he opted for petrol model
costed around 8-9 lakhs
I kinda like it, no issues encountered till date
Yesterday’s news : top 5 vehicle in India failed in crash test… And Hyundai EON is also in the 5 , it got 0/5 in crash test.
of Eon and Kwid, spend little more and go for Celerio automatic . absolute delight car . best compact car I’ve owned . automatic and first class features

Then why don’t you just visit your nearest Renault showroom and take a test drive? All your confusion will come to an end.
