sbi rejected my application yesterday via sms
as per internal policy you are not eligible for credit card.
Just now the ICICI agent collected documents – ITR & Bank statement even though I’ve a savings account with them. Let’s see..
Best way as suggested above is to open a savings account (with HDFC). I’ve received three offers for pre-approved cards even though my transactions are limited in HDFC. I don’t like credit cards , have applied for ICICI just for extra 5% offer & it’s life time free.

right now HDFC is giving cc to mainly all of their clients who have even 10k in their account, moreover no documents are required for getting this card.

They usually don’t reject those customers who maintain more than 25000 qab

i have 3 other credit cards
total limit 2.10 lakh.
avg balance 10000.
no transactions . account lying idle almost.

Primary reasons of rejection for you
Not maintaining above 25000
Not transacting regularly into your SBI account
Their software checks your existing SBI account linked to your pan card and immediately approves application and gives limit based on your past relationship record with sbi and spending/payment patterns of your existing credit cards
Don’t apply online apply offline through sbicard agent
Chance of rejection is high if you apply online
