Issue With Zomato Delivery Boy

Yesterday i ordered 4 small pizza on zomato for my kids, When i made order i found Rohit named delivery guy with this number 85955 37xxx,
I called him and told him that call me on 7080448xxx insted of registered number once u reach nearby my address and he told me yes i would do that,
Also i gave a voice instruction on zomato to call on 7080448xxx.
I was tracking the order and i found that he is nearby my house so i called him and found his number was busy continues..
He called on registered number which doesn’t belongs to me and after several tries he finally cancelled the order and blocked my number.
Zomato refused to refund my amount worth 195 on the name of cancellation fee..
My concern is when i gave him voice instructions, also i called him to contact on 7080448xxx why he did such a shameful act..
He got my food worth 195 rs and showed how cheap he could be by using such tactics…
What Should i do guys? Do u think making a complaint can make an impact

Yes this was his main intention, Thats why he didn’t pick my calls when i tried to call him many times
Happened with me also , I can feel , i lost my money that time, if you find any way tag me also
why in world did you ask him to call on different number he would have anyways delivered it without even calling anyone you only gave him the idea that he could get away with it 😂 …
Question is where did you got 4 pizzas for 195
Is that difficult ?
Add 2 margharita pizzas and apply GAME50 (You can use any other occasional code if available )
Net price is 104 + amazon pay cashback offers.
Repeat this order twice . Net price is around 150 for 4 pizzas.
I did this calculation for domino’s , unbranded restaurants can be cheaper with zomato codes

verbal instructions doesn’t matter , next time order properly using registered / alive numbers …. there were many instances of fraud orders using USA / foreign numbers to avail 50 discount … latter giving verbal instruction to contact on other numbers .
Zomato / swiggy has an IVRS / app number…. from there delivery boys are required to contact customers … customer’s actual contact number is never exposed to delivery boys for added customer security .
thats why verbal instructions / call me on some other number etc etc are out of question / context .
Then why zomato gave that option… How u could say it doesn’t matter? Swiggy still has the option to change number after placing Order… Also they share delivery partners number

Last week in Bangalore I ordered in swiggy at 2am… Delivery guy collected food and ran away mentioning he isn’t able to pick up food … Another delivery guy assigned said this…. Swiggy was good enough to provide a replacement order right away though!
Everyone does that ola/uber driver , courier guy (bludart erc) , gopher, bugbasket ( they got sick of mine chats that they never call now ) , jiomart ( they will like some happy kid says i will come again tomarrow , guess they get some day off or something
So its not in dept. its in the guys , theese guy delivery guys they are the botton of the scums and they didnt get in any job and less pay
Just be little cool and treat them very nicelly chances are he will again run for your order happily
And be full strickt with company they email chat and all , its them who have your money and they sud be liable not the deleievry guy … when You will scold them enough chances are they will put appropiate guys for you with instruction ,,, will also block the areoge t for you and for all
This happens to me when i came new here in this locality , alomost all guys i have quarrel , then i fallowed above method and life is so peace

Use the gift feature when ordering from a number you don’t have with you, have been using this to order from other accounts to use the offers, so while you can track the order, he is supposed to call on the gift registry number to deliver your order, and that ways you can always chat and complain that the person who was supposed to get the gift has not received it yet, in your case though sad,but looks like ROHIT had a conniving mindset… Doesnt happen often, but humans are humans!!

In the place of address instead of typing address only enter the mobile number on which u want to receive cal
Why didn’t you ordered from your own number. You used someone else’s number for some discount I guess.
You can’t blame zomato or delivery guy. Its your fault that you didn’t used your own number.
There is option to gift order for friend. There you could mentioned your name & working mobile number.
Its your mistake only… Using different numbers ! 
A delivery boy running away with food … shows the value of food for him & also he knows what he is doing… either ways What he has done “may” be (M not sure 100%) wrong in 1 perspective but these incidents show the real sad side of developing countries like India (world) .. where food matters even for delivery boys … also there is bit of exploitation we all try to do same time wrt offers money n what not…
Obviously these deliver boys can’t sell food n earn money all they can do is eat themself or take it for someone in their family…
Honesty n loyalty is one thing but humans (all of us) do make mistakes … different level of mistakes…
Blast these big swiggy zomato etc is fine n should be done as they are the one making money …. but human hunger & wish for good food may not have enough justification as such…
Not sure if there’s any solution, but whenever i do this thing , i mention the line “Call on xxxxx” in the address itself, thats easier
They dont follow verbal instructions, even if they say okay.
