Since 3 days I am not able to watch single youtube video on my both mobile.
And speed seems reduce.
I am from Mumbai.
Any1 facing same issue?
@sidbhai I do not face the disconnection problem on either the 2300 MHz band or the 1800 MHz band. Seems to be a local tower problem in your area. Do register a complaint with Jio about the same.
By the way, although I prefer to use the 1800 MHz band during daytime, I get so much better speeds at night on the 2300 MHz band. I usually schedule all my downloads to start at 2:00AM, but I was up until very late in the night yesterday so I started the downloads manually around 1:00am and got ~25 Mbps torrent download speed (without VPN) on the 2300 MHz band. I am using 850 band daytime, speeds vary between 10-15mbps and 2300mhz night speed >25mbps. Ealry morning the speed would go beyond 50mbps if ‘tethering via usb’.
The disconnection is very rare but does happen, first solution is to OFF/ON the hotspot. Sometimes the hotspot hangs on Lyf phones. Second solution is to switch OFF/ON data, that fixes most problems. Worst case scenario restart the phone. Though all of these problems are somehow related to LYf phones only. Works like a charm on LG.

I had network disconnection issue before not sure if its related to Jio or WIFI-AC card
Sadly all my devices are snapdragon, band change not possibl. Day time speeds vary from 5 Mbps to 10 Mbps. Early mornings (4-7am) getting speeds around 30-40 Mbps
Not using VPN at all these days, i guess those throttling days are over now its just congestion
Just 2 days before Get JIO sim and get activated within 2 hrs….
but the issue is:-
NO ONE CAN CALL me (their Sim Operator ask them to check if the Number is Correct & in-service)
No one can SMS me (peson who want to sms me get message from their operator that ‘sms failed’)
but:-
I can call every one
I can sms every one
I can surf….

Thank you everyone for the insights. @Stupendous Man – I have followed those suggestions without success. Unfortunately.
I just talked to CC. This time determined to explain my problem.
And it happened:
The guy refuses to listen. He says me to restart the phone. Pull out the SIM card.
Damn!
Have done all that.
So I told him to hear my first. And then offer solutions. Then I went onto explain how I enjoyed Jio interruption-free for a couple of months.
And the new issue has cropped up only recently.
He, like Jio, interrupts me and says the whole Karnataka is facing outage.
I then, like Jio, interrupt him and tell him that most of my friends are able to browse continuously.
Then I explained him that it could be a tower issue. And how I have been moving places to get optimal connectivity.
He listened. Finally.
And then I told him to file a complaint to check the tower. Gave my address.
He wrote it down, probably, and quickly told me thanks for calling. I was waiting for a complaint number… or something.
Never happened.
Not sure what to expect now.

all netvelocity apps have that option. you just need to click on plus symbol on bottom of the app and click on “RF Information” then you can see the band details

@pravingole999 bro it all depends on how much signal strength you are getting and on which band your device is operation on.
Also if many devices are operating on same band in your area(means less SNIR) you may get less speed since lte band works on csma cd technology.

Jio that I used to praise so much is now beyond pathetic! I am getting disconnected quite frequently. @DealSeeker
As advised, I am using Net Velocity to check the band info. Whenever I am on 2300 – which I learned is the best – the connection drops after 20-30 minutes.
Then I move the device into the sink to get 1800.
After several minutes, connection drops. And I take the device and roam everywhere until I see 850, which, once again, stops connectivity after sometime.
This excruciating cycle repeats. With me holding the phone and walking like I am the next Einstein trying to play around with space and position to find the relative gravity of connectivity. Quite complicated.
Such a shame this is happening. Not just with Lyf… but also with other 4G phone that has Jio installed.
I used to get over 25 mbps all the time. Now I would be just happy if the connection doesn’t drop anymore. If Jio works as advertised.
Any advice? Tips? How do we lock in to specific band? Or what steps should I take to stop this interruption? How do I talk to Ambani about this? Anyone got his number?
@DealSeeker, now I seek your expertise.
EDIT: Asked Jio CC to help me out. I had very low hopes to start with. And they suggested that I restart the device. Puff.
If it was one device that was causing this issue, that’s acceptable. But even my brother’s Jio gets disconnected frequently. And guys, if you are facing the same issue, let me know. At least then I will know it is not just me. Or maybe it is just me. Maybe I made fun of Ambani’s dad in my past life. And now I am paying the price.
Karma is a real thing!
