I have HP pavilion ec0101 ax. Which has 150W charging adapter. But the lighting in my area has caused adapters and many other electrical devices to crash. Can I use 90W adapter for charging? ok for my device.

Depends on the nature of work you expect from the laptop in discussion.
If intensive computing like gaming etc , then do no downgrade the power adaptor as any reduction may result in poor performance. If normal usage/ not resource hungry, then 90W is fine to use.
Edit: I re read your post, and it says "for charging" If I have to take those words, it is ok to use 90w rated power adaptor for charging.

Yes, You can use! No issue but don't use it for long as every adapters and power cord is designed with specific model taken into consideration.
