My very 1st card was from SBI and provided as LTF (year 2007 though)..
So its not a myth for sure..
How old is your savings account and credit card with them bro
SBICard is a subsidiary of SBI. Card agents are posted in most branches. SBI shares savings account data with SBICard to give pre-approved offers. Savings account holders also get exclusive credit card variants which are not offered to non-account holders, like SimplySave Pro and Prime Pro.

I have closed the free SBI card long back, even after they harassed me a lot keeping account active. Very bad Chenni people. Here is procedure I did.
1.Wrote A letter asking to close card account.
2.Cut the card along with magnetic strip and chip into pieces.
3. Send the letter (and card pieces) to sbi card head office through speed post/RL/courier
4.keep receipts safe. Take pic of letter and receipt then load to googledrive. Because they may not close account even though ….
I have sbi simply click for last 4 years. First 3 years, that was the card i used for most of my online purchases and was able to get 1 lakh and 2 lakh milestone gifts. After i got my Amazon prime credit card, utilisation became less and last year, I was not able to spend 1 lakh on the card. CC flatly declined to waive off the annual fee,even after I threatened to close the card. Since I had substantial reward points (but not enough to redeem), decided to pay. This time though i may close the card, if they don’t waive off. I was able to spend around 70k this time.
Pls tell me how to close the card. I have called customer care number, but there is no option in ivr for card closure

Also it gives you 2k Cleartrip GV on spend of 2 Lakh and again 2k gv on cumulative spend it 4 Lakh
Another points I got from a Dimers post is that people who are just taking Flipkart Axis card for Flipkart 5% Cashback Can use Simply click card as it will provide the same 5% reward benefits on Flipkart

I applied for OLA SBI card previous year and I closed (by sending mail to SBI and OLA) it just before renewal as it is charged one. SBI CC not at all willing to waive my card charges. But before that they have given 500+500 Amazon voucher offer for applying SimplyClick card and I applied. 500 given as per norms but for other 500 I fought and got. Now, they are offering SimplySave card with 500 voucher. Waiting for LTF from SBI which is not possible I think.
This card give 10x rewards on online shopping at Amz and others. One point is about 1.2 rs or lower if converted to gift card
For 100 rs spent on amz we get 1.2 rs but if used amz card we get 5 rs.
This card seems only good when sbi cc offer is there. I guess we can use ‘unati’ card as well… and save one the annual fee?
Need same Simply Click LTF,
I spend around 15-20k each month through my SBI credit card but my milestone spends still continue to remain as ₹0. I have contacted the SBI customer support like 5-6 times now but the response and support is completely pathetic felt like they themself don’t know about the rewards and fee waiver on spending 1lac nd 2lac through SBI credit card. Can anyone tell me how to fix that??

I have a savings account with sbi. Got a pre approved simply click card last month. (65k limit) with zero credit history.
But not LTF. But I think i would spend >1L to avoid or get back the annual fees. And the joining fee got refunded via amazon pay gift card.
As per statement from SBI…none of the Credit cards will LTF.. they waive off based on spending limit..
What i came to know from all this is that all banks will claim the same , but
all bank can offer their CC on LTF basis based on the relationship with customer.
Should I convert my old SBI LTF CC to Simply Click one ?

It’s not possible to get lifetime free card from SBI Cards. Only SBI staff can get it. Rest all have to pay, no escape other than minimum spends.
Yes, I am keen to know as well. Previously, I was using topcashback.in and it worked very well for me. Lately started using Gopaisa but most of the cashbacks are not tracked. So bit disappointed.

I’m looking for the best LTF credit card available at the moment. The 2 main features I am interested in right now are B1G1 on movie tickets and perhaps some reward system for purchases. Does anybody have any suggestions? I currently only have an HDFC Savings/Salary Account.
Called last week to close all useless and chargeable cards.
Axis ace : took request immediately and blocked, no confirmation yet on closure.
Axis myzone : They are pushing hard not to close, got 2500 points to continue.
HSBC platinum : Offered 1000 points to continue, asked for 10000 points, then they agreed to close.
Simplyclick : Got it converted as LTF

Looking to cancel a SBI irctc card if it stays a paid card. Mostly use amazon for train ticket booking nowadays as amazon pay balance is discounted.
Last time when I called asked to make it LTF they said it is not possible.
This time I raised a request to close saying that I have many other LTF cards, then they called and offered 1 year fee waiver. I didn’t agree and asked to proceed with closure. Then they transferred to some other guy and he made it LTF.
