Forget about 12% and 18%, they are mulling changes in the gst slabs itself. They feel the existing slabs charge very less tax.

it was necessary to bring rate of gst on mobile phone equivalent to gst on mobile components
since mobile manufacturers were barely paying any GST
*BTW No change in rate can be made without the 75% state agreging on TAX rates
BJP has govt only in 14 sates out of 32 participent )

Why couldn’t the gst on mobile components be brought equivalent to the gst on mobiles? That could have taken care of the inverted tax structure as well?
