Personal Commentary - Since last week, every morning there is a thick layer of smog that becomes denser and denser towards evening and something in air bites my eyes and throat as I breathe air in. It also smell of putrid cooking oil. Do you guys noticed this climate change? Are you feeling somewhat unhealthy too?

Paji remember we talked about cars which are 15 years+ old sometime back. If vehicles, including autorickshwas which emit white smoke and which some bkl run on mitti ka tel by modifying engines, etc are banned or phased out then some of it might improve.ofcourse they need to do other things to improve aqi too.

People from Delhi go to other nearby cities to buy crackers at 50% discount and still burst those. Just think which cop will have the guts to fight with crackers bursting crowd, that too on Diwali day, he would be sneered at by the mad crowd.

Ban should come from within. And seriously telling you watching others bursting crackers is no fun at all. Kids in the house will give you such a cold deathly stare that you will feel tormented from within. So, rule or no rule, CM bole ya PM ya bole CJI, crackers will be burst everywhere. There is nothing stopping it from happening. They should ban industries involved but they just cannot because it's huge employment hub and there is no alternative

Remember G20 event in Mumbai?

All construction activities were suspended for 7 days and AQI improved drastically.

No one cares for citizens but for foreign delegates.😣

Main reason is not vehicles but the construction activities.

Construction activities emit lot of dust particles.

And also the airflow is quite stagnant as ever since October heat started a week back.

Wait for 1-2 more weeks, Delhi will be choked and this article will be reversed.

You’re feeling polluted air in just 150-160aqi? Dam! Here, even with 300-400 aqi Delhiites doesn't feel anything.

The comparison is done wrong. In Delhi, last 2 days it was raining like hell which bring down the pollution. Before that, it was ranging between 300-400 aqi which will go up as we move forward towards Diwali!

It is not a pleasant sight to watch also. Visibility is poor on not so distant horizon. Nearby buildings seems as if covered in foggy clouds. Refracted sunlight due to these suspended dust particles are making my eyes go squint. Everywhere it's khuda pada, mindless mad construction going on

Bursting crackers is not good I know.

But there is something called Traditional culture and legacy.

From when other religions were not even born, Sanatanis were bursting  crackers with joy for the arrival of their Gods.

What about deforestation during Christmas and Animal waste due eid? That's also severely effect our environment right?

Today there are thousands reasons of pollution so these are following safe ways of celebrating Diwali with crackers -

1. Promote and buy Green Crackers

2. U are rich that doesn't mean u will burst lakhs of crackers, some people do, put a limit to urself, burst crackers but small amount.

3. Stop use extremely loud fire crackers bombs, this might affect people.

4. Keep check of safety during bursting crackers, don't light crackers towards others house.

Be respectful of of environment.

So called delhi pollution is due to crop burning and excessive industry in one place, huge no. Of cars , land locked area etc. pollution due to crackers is hardly 5%.
