I am into IT field for last 6 years, one thing i learnt is patience.. Weather it may be onsite or promotion or interview call or call letter.

One month is normally a decent time in big companies to release offer letter from the time of confirmation. If i am their in your position, i would have keep searching for another option not waiting for offer letter. If i get it, i would be happy, else keep going.

Now as you have bugged them enough, that itself sufficient enough for them to reject you..

Anyway, please let us know the company name. If its big company like TCS,CTS, Infy etc then forget your case etc.. They will tackle you easily..

Small companies you can try.. but still in case of job there is no rule that they should call you within a time frame to job like that..

So better leave this and try for better company..

All the best for your future..

You cant do anything in this case.
Government owned companies like NSDL has done same thing to me.
They have appointed me then after one month they told me that project is closed so we can not appoint you.

No company will sign a legal agreement with you stating you have the job after you have passed the interview. Even an offer letter is considered as letter of intent, and is not legally binding until you join the company. They can sack you even a day after you have joined if you didnt pass their background checks. So buck up, and move on.

If you still want to, wait for the offer letter to come. In the meantime try hunting for other jobs. Since you are able to join in a short period of time, check out relevant job sites which require candidates who can join in 1-2 days, 1 week and so on.

@sharana8ll This is usual for consulting companies. In your case, it seems you were approached by a staffing firm (aka middle-man) for a job which involved multiple parties in the chain all the way up to the client. Unfortunately, offer letters don’t mean much in the IT sector, let alone a confirmation of intent to give an offer letter.

Seems like the job requirement was either staffed or it was withdrawn all together by the client.

Conclusion: Move on. Find another job. And this time, be careful to avoid middle-men. Try to get an interview directly via the vendor, if not with the client. Good luck!

Just move on… do search for new company/job/business.
The company you have mentioned, must be having some issues, may be they did not win the project for the one they were hiring you.
You have already tried hard.. try searching for other options instead of waiting for them to call you.
If they call you, that is good but do stop exploring other options.

Best of luck.

@sharana8ll though one can feel the helplessness feeling bothering you if you were solely looking at this opening, I would like to second what @ruleyourlife , @slash84 and others have said, while going on to request you to consider this:

1] you are currently depending on your savings or historical corpus and (probably) do not have another steady source of income presently. [the last part I am assuming];
>> considering the above, are you ready to strain yourselves further over something in which you do not have a strong case going for you if one purely looks at the technical (legal) aspects ?

2] the capabilities of each individual are different, and may be you will be able to do justice to all activities: looking out for new employment opportunities, preparing for and later working on the new schedule AND devoting resources to tackling the forgone conclusion.
Only you (or someone who knows you really well) can analyse if you fit the bill on the above and should pursue it in a manner that might portray you as a scorned person to the company and industry in general.

NO idea about the people you are up againsts, but trust me if they are any of the big 5-6, you really can rather think of succeeding at solving the Kashmir issue in shorter time than to succeed against them in the framework of our judicial framework.

I do not have much exposure to the field, but from what I remember of the heydays and eventual fall as the Filipino and East European guys started offering better quotes for safe work and Indian IT industry lost, is that
people even after getting confirmed offer letters were often not given joining date intimation.
Companies or inside staff would often cite reasons like the client negotiations not getting finalised or that the cost economics made the management to scout from the people on the bench in-house.

If you think you have the wherewithal to pursue this @sharana8ll , then better discreetly explain your situation to this ‘Global HR’ on a emotional personal level and proceed after seeing how they respond.

But then again, I am not sure of the realities. @DealSeeker aren’t most so called IT firms not merely staffing firms themselves or what is called ‘job work’ oriented mills in textile or other fields. Sorry for always expressing my same ol’ views.
I can not hammer my old deep rooted thoughts when I only saw the likes of Flexcube or few other ‘products’ out there from real Indian companies, rest all are like the Singh Enterprises. [I know of this Mr. Singh who gets flimsy shirts tailored in a small unit with 40-50 machines and similar staff numbers by taking job-work orders from some peripheral garments brand.]

also, may be I have the wrong context altogether.
I am assuming that OP’s direct first point of contact was the Indian IT company itself and by client s/he meant the actual company for whom this Indian IT Co. is taking over the service contract of the project (for which the OP was short-listed.)
In what you say DS, it feels like there is a staffing firm, vendor is the Indian firm and client is the end company for whom OP will design.

okay I have to add my half hearted apologies to anyone if you are part of any similar non-product oriented IT companies and have differing views than my own. [the views have been formed after prolonged observations and interaction with various close people, some of whom are first cousins and their spouse in companies like Accenture, Infy, British Telecom oo MBT tsch TechM is the new name, TCS.]

@sharana8ll I dont’ think you can do anything in this case…. I’ll suggest you to keep facing interviews till you get a better job…

It’s pretty common to give confirmation to candidates without releasing the offer letter… I too received confirmation many a times but offer was not released…. Most of IT giants including HCL/IBM/Oracle follow such practices and most often they hire from third parties so they cant’ be blamed for such practices as well…

Market is good now, you may try another job… msg me your skillset, I’ll check if I can be of any help…
