Did you even read the tweet? Do you even understand the reason behind that? It’s not because of someone’s fancy, it is because there is scientific reason for it (for turning off the grid). If you can get couple of minutes to read it and comprehend please do it.

Would there be problem with voltage? I dnt want to run shops to shop to buy news bulbs, lights. money is already hard
thinking of turning off my main, 10 mins prior just to be on safer side.
That problem is there most of the time (at my place) , while your bulbs wont be affected (mostly), better to switch off all appliances which dont have an attached stabilizer (e.g. fridges, mostly people dont have attached stabilizer with that)
Nothing would happen mostly, but no harm in taking precautions
Ha ha let’s see if my electric supply namely CESC does this from their end. I never been in a circus which my parents talk of from their childhood or adulthood even, but now I’m having to experience it, not bad.

Few days back, i was thinking that as the sky is getting more visible, i was wishing if i cud see the stars in full dark… Means zero light, and my wish come true… Wanna tell here tht i m also against modiz black night..
PM only asked to switch off lights in our homes and there is no call to switch off street lights or appliances like computers, television sets, fans, refrigerators and air conditioners
actually announcement was to switch off lights, not other appliances at all – clarified by govt already. So if any idiot even turn off ICU ventilator then what to say.
lights are mostly LED so don’t know if they contribute even 30-35% of total power load of a house/domestic use on average.
Also Domestic consumption is just 25% of electricity consumption in India, rest is used for industries,commercial use,agriculture sector
5-10% change should effect grid like this? unless people turn off all the equipment at sudden and turn on at same time or poor handling by electricity dept.

Some poor people here who don’t have any expensive appliances in their home will have no problems supporting the initiative…But the funny thing is, these poor people think that everyone in this forum are as poor as them & just because they couldn’t afford buying these, no-one else in this forum has TV sets, refrigerator/s, ACs, computers, laptops, Washing machines & Microwaves in their homes…
