Your bill will be having the tentative meter reading date mentioned on it.
Also, please do check whether your meter is actually working or not.
It’s like they tell us to send the meter reading for the first two months and agent himself comes to check the meter reading after 4 months so as to ensure that you aren’t bluffing with the count wherein my case whenever I send them the meter reading I only send them 40-45 units but when they come and check they bill me more (leftover for the previous month’s plus the new reading) and they only consider the count in black. That’s probably an estimate bill that has been generated. As and when MGL starts collecting meter data from your neighborhood, you will either get a CREDIT bill, if their estimated units is more than your actual consumed units OR a DEBIT,you will need to pay more ,bill.

Also, it depends on whether or not, you were billed or not for the last 6-8 months. Check your bill for that.

You can send the meter reading to them via sms and their site. Check the bill for details. Since this bill is already generated, adjustment will happen only in the next bill
