Can't really figure it out if it's a bug or a speaker-related issue. The phone volume is like 10% when set @ 50%. Be it I use for media or call. The main speaker as well as the earpiece.
It's totally fine when I set it at 100-80%. It's as loud as it should be. But after 50% the problem starts.
Have uploaded a 20 seconds video here where I am playing a song in 100-0% volume. You can check for a better understanding.

I am on the latest September patch, and read on the internet that the latest patch has many bugs. And some suggested wiping the cache, turning Dolby Atmos off, did that but no change.
The phone is still in the return period BTW. Suggest what to do?

It works on speaker as well.
BTW tried earbuds. The volume is working fine on it.
I'd suggest get it thoroughly checked before your return period lapses because i gifted my sister a m52 5G and it has weird issue where during calls only Bluetooth and speakers are active.
After two Service centre session, the best they do is format the phone and hand it back to you after few days.
M series are infamous for strange issue but I'm surprised S 20 fe (wildly popular) having that issue
I am on the latest September version. I asked in this device telegram group as well. A member said he is hearing about this issue for the first time. And he confirmed that his device doesn't behave like this.
Or maybe my speaker isn't calibrated properly, his phone is 1 year old. He is also on the same software version.
I will search on Samsung members app tomorrow, thanks for the search filter trick buddy.
BTW in reddit I found one similar case, but that is it. 😬

I have not installed latest update, my sound output is fine at 50% volume
Try safe mode.
on reset - reset all settings.
Check if there is a volume limit on
Settings>sound and vibration>volume>click the hamburger menu (upper right)>media volume limit. Turn it off. found this on Samsung forum.
Found many similar complaints (caused by a software update) for A/M series phones on Samsung community.
1. Try safe mode and see if the same issue occurs even there
2. Factory reset
If the issue still remains then request replacement/refund. For every minor issue, samsung demands motherboard replacement (They don't seem to be doing firmware downgrades at service center). Even though they will do it for free now, opening up a device (well within the refund/replacement period) doesn't sound right.
@Tejaa
Meanwhile, I called the previous operator and asked if he received my appointment, he gave a hint that even though he registered using multiple names in Amazon as an operator, this ain't his. He told me you must have received a call from a girl whose Hindi is unclear, kind of regional language mix. I am like bro?!
I then attended her call and told her that this is my second and last attempt and that the previous operator wasted time. She did similar tests and said she will write a return email from her end. After 30mins I got an email saying the service completed. Then I tried to place a replacement request and it worked. But now the expected delivery date is Oct 10 to Oct 22. By then I might get a scratch on the phone, already handling very delicately.
Registered on the Samsung site using the serial number before starting the phone to make sure it's NOT registered earlier or a refurbished piece. Usually when someone inserts a sim for the first time the phone gets registered to the logged-in Samsung account. (Not a full proof method though)
Did tests and all. All good.
Now coming to the sound issue for which I had exchanged the phone:
There is a minor change in the sound quality but not in the loudness. So it seems like a device-specific issue, more of a software thing. Felt guilty for making a loss for Amazon(now they will be selling the exchanged phone at less price) where the fault is Samsung's or maybe a little bit of mine.
try to clean external speaker areas. Also use speaker cleaner app. I feel some water droplet inside
