I dont think IPL is scripted. Nor do i spend much time watching it. I watched some 1-1.5Hours when RCB was playing apart from that its all leisure.
I find it funny when they say IPL is scripted. especially when they cant substantiate their claims.

I think the bigger point is whether it has any worth on not. World cups have a value because they have an interval between them, with ipl happening every 10 months (and there is auction in between too), it significantly reduces the strive to fight and win because everyone thinks they have ample chances. Ultimately it boils it down to an entertainment event and pushes cricket to the backseat, it's not a bad thing though, increases economic activity.
But it's not about ipl, every sport wants to reach this stature but only football has been able to do it internationally. Cricket is a regional thing , just like American football and some other sports that are country specific.
To those saying it's fixed (which is not impossible to believe) , it doesn't matter, even if it's fixed the economic outcomes (which are of primary importance) remain the same. It's not a life or death thing, watch it as a movie. I personally won't spend even a single penny going to a stadium but I won't either judge those who prefer it.
