Lumpy is a severe concern, already hitting thousands of cattle here in Gujarat.

We are consuming packaged milk from a standard co-operative society, with self-inspected quality control, so never worry. For precaution, you can avoid giving raw milk to children. A vet can guide better.

Milk is bad on many levels but let's not trigger a war here. Do your own research.

For reference, humans are the only mammals who drink milk even after growing up, that too other animal's milk.

Studies say that it has not been possible to ascertain the presence of viable and infectious LSDV virus in milk derived from the infected animal. FAO notes, however, that a large portion of the milk in Asia is processed after collection and is either pasteurised or boiled or dried in order to make milk powder. This process ensures that the virus is inactivated or destroyed.

Notably, Joint Director at the Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI) told PTI that it is safe to consume milk from cattle infected by Lumpy Skin Disease, as it is a non-zoonotic disease.

"It is safe to consume milk from the infected cattle. There is no problem in the quality of milk even if you have it after boiling or without boiling," Mr. Mohanty said.

Saw a video of Maneka Gandhi asking to stop consuming milk and other dairy products because daily owners are selling milk from diseased cattle and it's passing onto us humans with skin disease. But nothing in news. Share info if you have any.

Avoid prepacked milk drinks and all only consume home milk as we boil it till its boiling point that will kill most of the virus .
