I have had this debit card for 2 years now. Earlier it used to be salary account therefore no annual charges but now it costs me 750 + taxes each year. Should I keep this or go for the rupay version which is only 250/- annualy? I have a platinum rupay debit card from another bank.

I already have this card and they are charging 750 annually. The only feature is 1 percent cb on spends which I already have credit cards for.
I changed it to the rupay card for 250. Not only does this card give very low points they also charge you a lot for it and it comes by default without you even requesting it. But now I find rupay card is not so accepted for everything. Well it is but some places still have trouble.
You can do all this online.. someone here helped me to find the options in netbanking to do it.
talking about the platinum or rupay card?
I too want to do the same. I have the Visa Platinum card from HDFC and I want to go for the cheapest debit card from them.
I found this card of no use. Will change it in coming 2 months when I leave my job and it won’t be a salary account.
I hope I can do this online.
After leaving the job and this account no more being salary account, will they charge for not maintaining minimum balance?
@adrishya Go for HDFC RuPay International Platinum debit card.
HDFC RuPay International Platinum debit card also work on International Ecommerce transaction.
you also get Domestic & International Airport lounge access.
Just clarifying some common questions from my experience (might be wrong):
It takes around 3 months for your salary account to become normal savings after you receive full and final settlement. Yes you will be charged money for non-maintenance of AMB after that(Mostly AMB is 10k for HDFC). And yes you will also be charged for your debit card annually.
So, any benefit of sticking with HDFC bank once it’s converted to normal SBA?
I can see charge for HDFC Platinum International Rupay DC charge as 150/- + tax only.
This looks good. Is there any benefits attached to ‘easyshop’ tag though or just a marketing gimmick?
@alienteck how much time did it take to get new replaced debit card after applying from site?
They say 2 days but it was friday already so got it on tuesday..
this link shows as 200+ charges for rupay premium debit card we 1st march 2018
I was given the rewards debit card when I opened a regular account last year. I have been using this card everywhere at supermarkets to pharmacies but haven’t got a single reward point credited to the account. Where do I complain about this? If I call the customer care, no human is reachable. Ivr is full of press 1,2 3 .. can I close this card to avoid the 500+ charges?
You checking here, right?

Hi @adrishya bro.
Whats the status of ur HDFC account now?
I’m about to leave my job and my account won’t be a salary account from FEB-20, so have few queries -
1. After how many months u were charged (₹870) for ur DC.
2. Is ur AMB still 0? If not, when it was changed.
3. You still getting any privileges from HDFC?
Any other suggestions regarding this..
Hey. I still hv my hdfc account. Got a rupay platinum card instead.
1. I think on 1 year completion of opening account. I opened account in july, left job jn December and they deducted amnt in june.
2. AMB is still 0 for me. Shows me as a prime customer. Maybe thats y.
3. Still have a personal banker. Other than that no privileges
Go for rupay card asap.
Don’t go for debit card at all. Only use the one you already have.
