i am planning to buy orico 6-in-1 Hub for all my needs.

If I use type-C to USB -A adapter and connect to my lappy's USB port and still use the hub's HDMI display and ethernet functionality? will it work?

If your idea is to convert your USB-A port to an output port for video and ethernet I don't think it would work. Even if your machine has USB-C port, it must be of the right type. Image from the product link you posted -

@guest_999 @gischethans . I saw that image in product description.

Display via host USB type-A -> type-A to type-C adapter-> Hdmi of adapter to display (for example monitor)  might not work,

but host USB type-A -> type-A to type-C adapter -> to this hubs ethernet via Cat5 or Cat6 cable at least should work right?

The HDMI of the hub will only work if you connect it to a usb port which supports display out ( you need to check you laptop specifications for it, not all laptop support it even over usb C)
Ethernet will work.

You need to buy usb A to C adaper which supports usb 3.0 speeds, cheap one don't(they are usb 2). ORICO itself sells one and they work perfectly (I have 2) ORICO USB C Female to USB Male Adapter, 10Gbps USB C to USB Adapter Double-Sided, USB-C Data Transfer Converter 10Gbps for USB 3.2 Gen 1/USB 3.1 Gen2/ PC, Laptop,Flash Drive,Quest Link : Amazon.in: Computers & Accessories

Also don't try to power your device using this hub if your device does not support it.

As for the hub it looks good (i will buy this soon), I have other hubs and ssd case from ORICO and all are working perfectly from past 2 years.

If something is not there in source then it won't be there in destination either. Many laptops have type C port but hardly 1% of them even support charging via that port let alone having other functions like display output.

Yes right. I do look for USB C display out and PD charge while buying lappies. I have LG gram with USB C display out and PD support. HP chromebook similary supports both. But my HP 247 G8 USB C does not support Display or PD charge only Data Transfer.

But want to be doubly sure about it. The hub looks costly so thought it spins some magic for display out (hardware part).

Later on after reading your above reply, realized that if source does not output hub cannot do anything sad.

Edit:

Have become blind my HP 247 G8 has Full Hdmi 1.4b port and rest USB 3.0X2 and Type-C are data transfer only. My bad very ignorant and thinking i cannot use Hub with it 😄
