Third time increase in lpg cylinder price within a less than a year

Today lpg cylinder prices are been increased again by another ₹ 25 to 30.
In total approximately ₹200 increased less than a year and even subsidy too stopped.
Kam dhanda nahi hai kya bhai? Doesnt matter which govt is in power still there will be group of people who hate dem. people are throwing Hatredness on eachother in social media… atleast keep this place for fun and peace

I wonder how a person with brain cells can trust a single word of all these garbage hypocritical politicians.
People don’t even trust their family members now, but blindly siding with a politician is a no brainer for them.
Since the opposition is dead and the “religion” trick is easy to get votes, we will have to wait till this cult party divide on its own.
Then we will get enough snitches from the ruling party to reveal the actual loot.
I am positive that it will be neck and neck to the last left coalition in terms of scams.
Until then we can all grab popcorn and enjoy the ride.

Actually, the country has just 6 years ago started feeling that the countrymen got out the the clutches of dynastic, oppressive, dividing, scamster governments. And more or less they ruled this country for about 60 years.
Opposition have lost trust because of their own deeds which are in public domains and in various courts.
Any party, which would stay very long in power gets complacent and makes mistakes. It can happen with this party too. As of now the highest popularity rating is because of the selfless, hardworking PM at the head and not because of the party.
Till the time the ruling dispensation becomes complacent, opposition has time to bring some brain, leadership and constructive agenda that will help them to bring their acts together and provide a better alternative to the country.

The coronavirus pandemic led to a very strict lockdown in many countries including India. This led to an almost total closure of business activities. The revenue generation for the government practically dried up.
But during the same time, the government’s expenditure went up sharply as it opened up its coffers to fund the fight against the pandemic and to provide relief to crores of migrants and the poor, who were the most adversely impacted by the coronavirus-induced lockdown.
Taxes including the GST, the corporate tax and income tax inflow had reduced. Revenue from liquor and petroleum was the principal income source for the government. To ensure its income flow remained intact, the government raised taxes on petrol and diesel in a way that the prices remained static while the government earned more money.
Are there any alternatives?
Now that the international crude oil prices have started rising again, fuel prices are rising in India. The government has an option of reducing taxes on petrol and diesel to bring the prices down. But it faces a dilemma.
If the government reduces taxation on petrol and diesel, its revenue will be impacted. To compensate, the government could have to increase direct tax on sectors that saw growth during the Covid-19 pandemic. But a direct tax may become politically counter-productive.
Secondly, any further reduction in revenue would widen the fiscal deficit gap. In a year, when the government is ready to borrow money for its capital expenditure, a widening fiscal deficit would ultimately make borrowing more expensive.
Weak Opposition
The fact that the BJP is in majority in the Lok Sabha and a ruling power in most of the states makes it easier for the Modi government to set a favourable narrative. At the same time, the Opposition is divided and the principal Opposition party, the Congress, appears to be weak.
The Congress and its leader Rahul Gandhi have been attacking the government over rising petrol prices. But most of the criticism has happened on social media with little support from the ground.
Another factor that seems to be easing the pressure on the government is a constant supply of narrative setting issues — the anti-CAA agitation, the Ram temple issue, and the farmers’ protest — in recent months.
These issues have shifted the public debate to a larger question of the political ideology of the BJP and the RSS. Issues such as rising petrol and diesel prices, and unemployment have taken a backseat offering the government a little extra elbow room.
Last but not least, the Lok Sabha election is still more than three years away. The government had cut the excise duty on petrol and diesel by Rs 2 in 2018 — a year before the Lok Sabha polls. But the excise duty on petrol increased by Rs 10 and on diesel by Rs 13 in May 2020 during the coronavirus pandemic.

When ur prime focus is just on elections and buying mla/mps and not on managing country then this day has to come. Goi treasuse dried up well before pandemic. Pandemic just gave them another excuse. And don’t forget they just imposed tax on pf too.. With high taxes people may also stop buying that inturn may decrease the liquidity in market

I do not agree with the Petrol and Diesel prices at present. They are at exorbitant level. Though I dont think Gas is a problem.
These Govts, at center and states, of any party, liked to increase the taxes on Petrol and Diesel. The opposition is also not making right noise because they also earn from the increased taxes in the states where they are in the power.
The cartoon shows that the two wheeler rider is being robed. But for that the two man standing besides dont need to wear masks. They are openly extracting money.
The truth is that the govt. is not doing this for themselves but to fund the schemes that they run for poor and also to spend on infra. It is a robin-hood act. Which, many along with me dont approve.
Having said that, even if I believe that this is not right, my vote will not change. This is because I have seen with my own eyes how the earlier dynastic rules have robed you, me and all of us by indulging in deep corruption, misrule, scams, nepotism…
The comparison will continue till the time some solid, good, honest, hard working, visionary and growth oriented leadership emerges. Basically, we need some one equal, if not more, than our PM.
