Wrong thing to do bro. 1 or maximum lots you would have the same chance as others. In over subscribed IPOs always apply for 1 lots. New SEBI rules for ipo allocation.

My Portfolio i made in Feb, delivered almost 41% while Nifty Index delivered 19% only
So this is snapshot from google finance, due to dollar price it is showing 39.xx return however actual would have been 41%
https://s31.postimg.org/vot23sz5n/nnnnnnnnnnnnn...
TIME: 1/2 FEB, MARCH, APRIL, MAY, JUNE = 4.5 months
RETURN: 41%NOTE:
1. Strategy which i followed: When Nifty tanked below 7000 level, all shares were at cheaper level, so i picked only quality shares.
2. Diversified to minify risk and volatility if market goes below further.(Market gone up only from the day i invested)
3. I do not advise you to invest in these shares, what matters is proportion of shares in portfolio and the right time….
4. This was the first long term investment portfolio i ever made in my life however i exited the game only when i made 10%-15% returns as i was testing only, however i still do track this portfolio via google finance and the above snapshot reflects the same….
Don’t know jack shit about nifty and all those terms. But ROI of 41% is impressive.
I still have some liquid funds yielding peanut interest in the bank. What do you suggest for a total noob who can invest something for +-20% risk?
Honestly, I am more interested in blackjack than the stock market. But I have to keep multiple asset class for the long-term game.

Things have changed now,
I guess most brokers allow you to buy in few clicks, Similar to buying equity or other things,
You have to make a bid, Hold equal to bid amount is created and if you are allotted shares the same (Depending on number of shares allotted) will be deducted.
Reading all the posts . I also wish to invest
But i dont know anything about it (n i want to start from small investments).i will be greatful to all dimers who could pm me with the guidance
