Transfer of salary account from one state to another

I have a salary account running in branch X , in state A.Now, I have changed company and moved to another state B, where I already have a normal savings bank account with the same bank.

How can we transfer salary account to this bank without changing account number ?? I have heard we can't have more than one Bank account in the same branch of sbi.

Not true. If they are two different types of accounts, if one of them is a salary account, you can.

You can initiate a branch change from netbanking, it might still require a branch visit. Or go to you current branch get approval from the manager and then approach the branch you want to transfer.

I have 2 sbi accounts in the same branch under the same CIF number.

Both transferred from other state.

Naver took a new passbook from new branch for both account

Either you can transfer online or visit your home branch and request for transfer

Please go ahead and mess with your bank account and then come back here to DD after Cibil hit of not paying EMIs etc.

Side notes:
1)What makes you to think that changing the bank branch from one state to another will not effect the IFSC code?
2)What is stopping you from using the same bank account for salary credit in another state employer?

Yes, I plan to do the same..but stupid bank wants me to travel all the way to their branch in other location ,just to apply for a debit card which they should have dispatched automatically...and without debit card, m unable to access Yono or online banking..

In private banks hdfc/icici you can visit any branch and get your account transferred by filling one form. In icici you can transfer anytime, there is one option in mobile/net banking
