Doctors usually mention proteinx or ensure protein for seniors who don't eat non veg but somehow i don't trust their label. The only local brand which might be giving what's mention the label seems to be muscleblaze, i might be completely wrong here and then there are on etc. For people with deep pockets. Do u guys know or use any protein/whey protein which is vfm? @Snapz @Ash-D @LIMBO (you posted a list in which protein tests were done of different companies, was that from a national level trustworthy lab?) @saucap @tappukepapa @kartikxxx @b4tm4n @ZNZ @Mayavi @getready (paji busy these days) @guest_999

Many pulses have lots of protein, there are similarly many other veg sources with protein. There is no excuse to take protein supplements for non-athletic/non-gym going ppl who eat only veg food.

I don't have the details but testing costs in total amounted to Rs 7 lakhs. The identity of the labs had to kept secret off late after they had to face the wrath of the pseudoscientific AYUSH groups after rigorous testing made it clear that their formulations were highly contaminated with toxic heavy metals besides others.

Proteinex and especially Ensure are a near total waste of money.

If Soya chunks are well tolerated (taste is not a concern and no allergies to Soy) then their defatted version (45-50g protein/100g) could be considered after consulting with the doctor. Alternatively Soya protein concentrate in meals rather than shakes like Whey.

This is why something like fda is needed here.remember a news sometimes back when some african country said that some xyz pharma companies medicines were behind deaths?they are still up and running and no action was taken against them.just imagine if fda has said that.this is why all companies under fda cannot even imagine to do this shit.

Nothing compares to whey protein....all other sources are pale in front of whey...I would suggest look for some offers or discounts to buy indian brand whey like myprotein ( british brand ) or Healthxp...keep the service size half to avoid acne and flatulence ( drawbacks of cheaper version of whey).

Indian brands have improved dramatically in last 5 years...good products.

Once has ensure as doc recommended after operation, never ever consumed any other brand.

I consume Sprouts and paneer for the best source (mushroom as well but i can't have it due to its shape and texture).

Occasionally soya (as heard it may develop man breast and also in ancient times it was used to fat pigs as it doesn't digest easily).

I would suggest stick to natural resources (if u are non veg u can have that as well) and avoid suppliments.

Rest ur choice blush

Has anyone tested these two companies mentioned by you?

CDDSO is a pathetic organization. For some 2 decades it refused to ratify the vaccine for KFD as it had become near useless but it never bothered to stop it's administration.

BTW IIRC even the FDA doesn't test herbal or health supplements. It's left to the manufacturer.

The citizens have to pick up the slack it seems.

Atleast 1gm protein per pound of body weight is necessary for day to day working, gym goers need more. No way the sources you have mentioned give that much, consider milavat.
Which operation?

What's kfd?
It is true for some supplements/product's but if there are any side effect then they will eat the whole company.buy any haldiram product here and from the us, the taste and oils used will be 100 times different.

Correct, FDA does not check so called "food supplements/vitamins/herbal products" etc unless they cause some serious issue & FDA is asked/required to test the product for safety.

I can't fathom how does it make any sense. Why leave public health to the tender mercies of greedy corporates?

This is actually right, an agency like FDA does not have unlimited budget & manpower to handle both critical functions where it matters most(aka actual medicines & drugs) & something which can & should be handled by common sense by general public. It is like saying banks should actively monitor that their customers don't share OTPs. All these health supplements, vitamins etc are not supposed to be taken by a typical person without prescription from a professional licensed doctor & they know which brand to recommend or even if recommendation is required at all.

That's the calculation given by marketing companies to sell their products that's what i feel.
It is a very huge market.
ON is the good brand i saw people consume.
Still i recommend you to stay natural.
