Being listed in scheduled commercial bank list is of paramount importance. 1) Number of Branches More number of branches means we can access our bank from different locations. That ensures seamless banking. One might argue, since netbanking is on the rise we don't need offline branches. But not all people do possess the resources we have at our disposal. And some problems can be rectified by visiting a bank branch. There is also this psychological impact. 2) Density of the branches I just made up this number 🐒🐒🐒🐒. This number implies Total number of branches/number of states in India. 3) MAB It is self explanatory. 4) Available online/offline services This includes money transfer services, ATM services, availability of different variants of cards, UX of web n mobile apps, ease of access to customer services, customer feedback on different platforms, ASBA facility for IPO application (total 25 banks https://www.sebi.gov.in/sebiweb/other/OtherActi...), loan availing facility, number of ATMS etc 5) NPA found this https://dbie.rbi.org.in/DBIE/dbie.rbi?site=publ... . It is too hectic to decipher.

It is too hectic to decipher. So, SBI naturally comes at top. Why? 22,141 branches, that is 615 branches per state(Branch Density), which is factually incorrect. Odisha has 780 SBI branches, Assam has 470 branches, Manipur has 50 branches, Mizoram has 48 branches, Nagaland has 75 branches, Meghalaya has 102 branches, Arunachal Pradesh has 65 branches etc. Those last 6 states are the most forgotten states in India in my observation. So, from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and from Rajasthan to Arunachal Pradesh, SBI has its footprint. Basic Banking facility can be available from with ease to with extremely difficulties(but those places have no other branch than SBI). Then assorted Cards are available. Netbanking, Yono are there. ASBA is available. Since a lot of people are SBI customers, people tend to ask silly questions and hence SBI staffs may be suffer from some sort of emotional thing. Online account opening is available. Customer support is garbage. For basic banking facility nobody beats SBI. MAB is 0 for the time being, that also means more people can open account there.

As long as branch visit is not required, sbi works good but once you do then it is all downhill. Don't have icici acc but even I know its online services are the best among all banks.

Branch visit in sbi is such a nightmare and for little little things they want you to visit branch ,
They deactivate internet banking completely upon 3 invalid passwords no way to unlock without visiting branch, and non- home branch service ? Don’t even think about it

I’ve only known SBI and axis bank services and axis bank’s staff in Rehabari and Tokobari/Kumarpara branches are filled with school failures (literally) with no brains and zero zeal to learn how to operate a basic computer work.
I’ve no idea how they’re even recruited in the first place.
Absolute trash service.
And one of them is such a horrid fraudster that I told him last month I’ll break his legs if he ever set foot in my parents’ compound.
Mf duped my dad into some bs policies.
Compared to that SBI is okayish and filled with tolerable workers.
In Sbi west guwahati branch, only one clerk is managing the entire lower floor. God bless him.
All of the others keep on pestering him with their works and there is one lady on the 2nd floor, who never works and ignores customer queries.
Must have a strong background to keep up that facade.
UCO was the best. My parents regret closing their accounts there.

Axis bank is most pathetic bank I ever seen, they are worst than sarkari banks, many PSU banks provide better service than Axis bank, They never do any work without making me to visit 2 or 3 times, They keep giving you time Kal Ana parson Ana system nahi chal Raha

In terms of availability of branches no one can beat public sector banks, but for every other thing branch visit is required, In SBI if your netbanking password entered wrong three times they deactivate username and cannot be activated without visiting branch, while other Banks providing unlock facility online
