use mostly at online websites.
which card is better ??
1) master card or visa card
2) which category

better go with visa as a number of offers are available on visa cards
n vu to remove the red
visa card should be preferred… usually more offers r tagged with Visa cards
personally I use the Silver International card … major difference between silver, global and gold card right now is the maximum POS/online shopping transaction limit.. for silver and global cards it is ₹ 75,000 and for Gold cards it is ₹2,00,000
minimum ATM withdrawal for Silver, Global and Gold cards are ₹100 , ₹500 and ₹500 respectively.
And maximum limit for daily ATM withdrawal for Silver, Global and Gold cards are ₹40,000 , ₹40,000 and ₹50,000 respectively.
Earlier in their debit card loyalty program ( SBI Freedom rewardz ) loyalty points used to vary on card types. But now for all the cards it is the same… 1 point per ₹200 .
Now choose the card which fulfills your requirements …. I hope this will be useful
you looking for debit or credit?
if you looking for debit gold is good
if you looking for credit card.. never take sbi credit card..worst service.. extra govt. charges on every purchase
u can go with
hdfc
icici
axis
standard chartered

Nothing like that
means , I can’t withdraw less than 500 with global card ???
n any other major difference between global and gold card, other than trans limit ?

this is what the sbi guy told me when I asked them abt the differences… n its still the same in sbi website… users of gold and global card can tell whether its 500 or 100

I am having Global International Card.
OP first of all,
You need to check if you really have a choice here ? Normally gold card and other higher cards are not issued to everyone, so you should check with your branch first.
Normally the international Silver cards is good enough,

yes, the higher cards aren’t issued unless u ask for it….and as far as I know there is certain criteria for each card even SBI saffs say different things abt this

Exactly, which is why OP should talk to his branch first,
no point in wasting time discussing a card which ur branch will not give you.
Once you know which cards you are eligible for, you can check the SBI website to know the difference and choose the best for u.
good luck

Branch me gadhe baithe hote hai. They have absolute zero knowledge. Better go to Private Bank.
I don’t think one can even choose between Master and VISA. It all depends on the day you open the account. One SBI friend told me that these two cards are alternated on every second day. And nobody knows on which day it is Master / VISA. Superb system, isn’t it?
Hi @stalwart if you want to use it only for online transactions, they why a debit card? You can create Virtual cards for the same.. also you won’t be charged for that ( in case of physical debit card you will be charged some 100+ in a year as maintenance charges)

Heard even VCCs are charged these days. Never used one myself though.

No sir, you just create them from Internet Banking site and use them on the merchant site NO charges and NO limitations on the num of card generation. Moreover as these are for one time use, there are no privacy or security issues too.
But the major drawback would be these are not considered for Cashback offers of Mobikwik and Freecharge.
SBI did not give me any option to chose my DC.
They said that u will get what gonna available when I ask about DC card option….

They are counted as Net banking transactions. If you Exceed 20 You will charged Rs 5 for every Excess Transaction.

In my case i asked for MASTERCARD at the time of account opening application but recieved VISA. Even my full name was not printed on the d card. When i asked them to atleast replace d card with another having my middle name Kumar they denied and told it doesn’t matter.
SBI is good until every thing goes right. If u get stuck in any problem then they dont give much attention unless u run behind them for days.
But is better compared to other govt public banks.

SBI charges are higher than Private Bank. But Services has horrible.Branches are like fish market, Staffs are Typical Babus.Stand in Queue for hours just to do petty things like cash deposit, passbook update, cheque withdrawal. You will not get any solution unless you dont run for days. Better Choose Private Banks.

https://retail.onlinesbi.com/personal/virtual_c... this page doesn’t show any such thing… but when contacted on helpline they said The transaction limits and charges are same as they are for Internet Banking.. which is you stated! Hmmm things are somewhat hidden from customers.

Actually they are slow at updating their website. Will be updated in due course.

you are right bro
the lady told me that today is MasterCard day, n I wanted visa, so she said me to come on Monday again to ask for visa. till then she put my card on hold.
also on exploring SBI website I got to know that gold international card comes with accidental insurance worth 200000 n theft purchase insurance of 5000 rs.
at the same cost of global international card, which does not come with all these beside lower transaction limits than gold cards . golds trans limit is 200000 n global international is only 75000.
so better choice seems Gold international card.
both costs only 150+ tax
Hey Bro, Any conditions or charges are there in gold card, likely they simply give silver card without any charges on opening a savings account.Means procedure for both cards apply is samestalwart wrote:
