My question is Why DD channels are compulsory in NCF in D2H?
25 mandatory Doordarshan channels have to be there along with 75 Pay Channels!
Just a thought ....please comment your views
IF TRAI is so consumer-oriented and they have let users choice their channels then why cant we choose whether to opt for DD Channels or not?

When Samsung tv plus(a free live tv app thing) launched republic was first indian channel to be there for months i guess they pay companies to be included in free list

Because those are state owned channels and are free. So, D2H are required to broadcast em as well. 🙂🙂🙂And since those free things are not costing us anything directly so it's all good.Â

You pay X amount to get Y number of free channels. If you exceed the Y number, you are forced to pay additional Z amount for every block of A number of additional channels. If these official propaganda channels and Republic trash are not forced, you can get more free channels within the same basic NCF.
So these channels are not "free", they also cost money.

Only FTA Box provides free channel without any ncf charges. I already switched to fta box.

Who said the whole NCF etc is for consumers? Its all for the benefit of operators and for pushing official propaganda. And then most DTH operators also force include the Republic trash into the free channels.
That is the main reason I dumped DTH and switched completely to OTT.Â
