YouFirst ask Aadhar number for activating your youfirst cards (BOI visa or RBL RuPay):

Note:- With reference to the Reserve Bank of India Master Guidelines on Prepaid Instruments vide circular No# RBI/DPSS/2017-18/58, Master Direction DPSS.CO.PD.No.1164/02.14.006/2017-18, Dated October 11, 2017, the Reserve Bank of India has mandated on the below requirements.
1. One card per customer at a time.
2. Obtaining of a “valid unique Identity Proof” against every Prepaid Card sold.
3. Limit to be maintained at INR 10,000/- per month & INR 1,00,000/- p.a. per customer.
Hence furnish your Aadhar card number in order to process the request and to comply with the regulatory guidelines by the Reserve Bank of India.

Even if you furnish PAN, its equivalent to getting the details as with aadhar… If Income tax wants to track the transactions, they can easily do so with PAN as well…. Bottom line is Submitting aadhar or PAN will have significant impact now, as they now can be easily tracked by the tax dept…
Have they mentioned this in the amazon website??

So I requested to initiate the refund. Also raised the claim at Amazon.
So they should stop selling cards anything above 10K ?
They have stopped selling cardw above 10k value…. No cards available in amazon, shopclues has cards of value equal to or less than 10k

And we should be able to buy one 10 k card of each type of prepaid instruments i.e youfirst boi 10k card, youfirst rbl 10k card….
And i wish they come up with few more co-branded cards with other banks

and will lead to further death of Shopclues
and Youfirst, if they don’t understand the circular properly. Youfirst is free to provide unlimited gift cards of less than 10k value each to every customer. I think they need to understand it. 1L limit was there earlier too on all kyc wallets only.
Edit: so 1L per month changes to 1L p.a. Only for wallets not prepaid cards.

I’m not sure why these guys are asking for aadhar or any other identification … read statment in bold below …or are they asking from people with gift cards worth >10k
10.1 Gift instruments
Banks and non-bank entities are permitted to issue prepaid gift instruments subject to the following conditions:
Maximum value of each prepaid gift instrument shall not exceed Rs.10,000/-.
These instruments shall not be reloadable.
Cash-out or refund or funds transfer shall not be permitted for such instruments.
KYC details of the purchasers of such instruments shall be maintained by the PPI Issuer. Separate KYC would not be required for customers who are issued such instruments against debit to their bank accounts in India.
Entities shall adopt a risk based approach, duly approved by their Board, in deciding the number of such instruments which can be issued to a customer, transaction limits, etc.
The gift instruments may be revalidated (including through issuance of new instrument) as per the Board approved policy of the issuer.
The provisions of paragraph 13 on validity and redemption, as applicable, shall be adhered to.
The features of such PPIs shall be clearly communicated to the PPI holder by SMS / e-mail / post or by any other means at the time of issuance of the PPI / before the first loading of funds.

Because my YF RuPay cards got activated yesterday and they did not asked any such thing from me…
What will they do with the open orders? I ordered today. My order has more than one card and value is more than 10k

I think Youfirst team is over reacting and they have not understood the RBI guidelines. The Master Circular has put more restrictions on “wallets” which are loadable and not prepaid cards. The RBI has revised the limit of semi-closed PPIs from Rs 20,000 to Rs 10,000 per month.
“The amount loaded in such PPIs during any month shall not exceed Rs 10,000 and the total amount loaded during the financial year shall not exceed Rs 1 lakh"
Someone needs to tell them this.

Yes They are Simply not activating Card greater than 10000

Okay so YF has started cancelling the orders. Those whose orders haven’t been dispatched or those whose orders have not been activated will be requested to submit aadhar if their order value is below 10k otherwise the orders will be cancelled. For those whose order value is more than 10k order will be cancelled.
What was your order size?
These days every tom, dick and harry is asking aadhaar “as per govt. rules”. Such pathetic countrymen we have. No moral values, no ethics, just hollow men. Bastards.
Even a single 3K RBL card order got cancelled and cancellation mail says unavailability of stock, trying other vendor.
I refused delivery of RBL rupay card from amazon .

I last bought 5 Youfirst RBL card of 2000 each from amazon. Sent activation sms about 4 days ago. Its still pending. 
youfirst called me, they said they can’t activate the card(rs 3000) asked me if i want amazon or flipkart gv instead,
