Introducing New Forum Design for All Users

Hey guys,
We are completely re-vamping the Forum design on Desktop and M-site after around 5 to 6 years… Its one of the major change which will get rolled out to you in next couple of hours…
Why such a big change suddenly?
To be very frank, its not a sudden change and we have ourselves used the new layout/design for past 1.5 months before rolling out to all… And yes we have been contemplating such a change from a long time…
The forum page in its current form was very unhelpful for New Dimers or new visitors to the website… With around 8-9 sticky, the sub-forums etc.. all the real deals were very much down and was lot of inconvenience for New Dimers to figure out the deals.
Also many never figured out how to see Latest deals in forums etc.. So we are hoping the new design will solve some of the pressing UX problems.
Why no votes? Why only hotness?
Over the last one year, we have worked a lot on Hotness algorithm and we will continue to evolve it to push better and better deals up the chain irrespective of simply “votes”
In current Forum page, 5 green smileys would show up even for deal having 40 votes vs one having 6 votes… It was never intuitive enough to understand the hotness of the deal..
With hotness, we are trying our best to automatically show the best deals on very top and Hotness currently is not depndent on what your “best friend” in the community thinks.. it considers clicks, views and much more…
While moving away from smileys may feel a bit odd, you will strongly feel the difference after few days or a week.

Easier switching of Forums
We understand many users would like to switch between forums and we have tried it to make it as much easier as we can.
Improved Search
If you are searching for deals, you wont find discussion clutter when looking for deals.
Choose your layout and it applies site-wide
If you prefer to see deals in a Grid format, simply select that layout and same layout will apply in Home page, Forum page, Search page etc..
If you prefer a less image heavy Text layout, We have got you covered too.
Hope you guys enjoy the change… While it may become slightly difficult initially (specially for hard core users out there), We can assure you that you will appreciate the change as time passes by

Forum layout should have been as it is.
This is screwed up UI. Fxxxking annoying scroller.. 
waste design. Not at all usefull to navigate and find good deals.
I am NOT able to accept this change. I feel sick of this design.

same here. Can’t really stand the new app and new dd forum design.
one more thing : admin has given us 3 layouts to choose from but it’s kinda feel like dictatorship. What about the choice of a large number of members you wants the old layout back.
DD admin needs to question himself -
1. did he really made the new changes for the sake of all members or just for getting more traffic and look forum more attractive to the advertisers / sponsors ?
2. I’ve been into forums/ discussion boards / from more than 12 years and old type of forum layout looks best. the new DD layout feels more like the windows 8 interface when it was just released. Many windows 7 users did not like it.
3. DD is a good forum and have some of the very best members so I’ll keep coming back and every time I look at the front forum page it just hurts so if possible admin can give us some themes to choose from I mean every individual user can select his own theme from profile setting ( once the user logs in his theme will be changed based on the preference he made ) and DD admin can keep the new look for everyone else as a default option.

For me the old forums listing page was terrible (only on desktop)
The blue fonts used for titles and very light green smileys looked amateur
The new design addresses these issues at the cost of too much screen estate being wasted
Edit option in comments tab is taking to hot deals page….
PLEASE DO A POLL AND LET DIMERS DECIDE WHAT IS BEST FOR US… PLZZZ
For a minute thought DD website got hacked by a kinder garden kid…. ABSOLUTELY NON SENSE design….. Missing my old dd hot-deals-online page look…. 
BRING THE OLD LAYOUT BACK 
+1000000 for old design. Bring the old layout back.
We were able to see a lot more posts/deals at a go, but now it’s a lot of pictures and thumbnails. It’s more look at content and as you know, we more content than the look and feel of it.
Recently Reddit made a change on their UI, but they gave the option to switch back, and almost every site does that. They didn’t even change the entire way we could see and use the forum. Here you have replaced the whole posts to posts with thumbnails. I don’t want to look at the pictures.
It would be a mess during Big Billion Days or a big sale like that. I’ll have to check other sites (I’m frank) just because it would be easier to check out the new deals instantly.
Admin, can we please get the old forum design back? I mean the entire ‘hotness’ thing is bad, but I can live with it. I’m not able to find a post or new deal like I used to do, it was much much easier, especially on my phone. Thing is there are sites that instantly copy deals from Desidime, but they have an easier way you can actually see the deals. This is just a mess. I’m sure if you do a poll, 90% of us would want the entire old thing back.
I am sorry but there’s not much difference in these images to choose or prefer one anyway, go with either.
On point, thanks for quoting us, those who were complaining, but I really don’t give a damn any more. I am done. I will only come here when I see a deal worth checking on Whatsapp bot. I will miss some cool guys here.

Please don’t ruin the experience in the name of novelty.
All you had to do was to remove the sticky threads. Everything was A OK. Take the site back to old version.

Why didn’t they change the UI of post (I mean once you click any deal the UI is old one..)

If you refresh the sometimes it is taking to 2 or 3 or 4 page
In mobile view, unable to go directly for last comment from deals list in forums
Combination between two was good >> votes + views.
5 Star Green deal + high views >> Awesome deal

What i observe in all this drama is that the problem lies in effort required to analyze all the content DD Forums has to offer. One Screen 6 Deals thats New UI. 25-35 Deals per Screen Old UI. To See Hundred Posts one have to scroll 15 Times in new UI and in Old Ui 1-2 Scrolls were enough. decrease the text size and make more topics visible in a single screen. Admin Happy, Dimers Happy… Party begins.
It doesn’t even let me edit in mobile version and directs me to the homepage.
And when transformed into desktop mode, the edit option is vanished!!!

To whoever it may concern…
First of all not to forget, it was a forum afterall which helped building the community such big. People prefer text mode on forums over pictures.
For the sake of changing things shouldn’t be ruined. The intention seems like catching the new fish from the pool. New users would find the deals attractive for the time being, but when they’d get old over time, they’d understand that it’s not those thumbnails that keep them coming, it’s the discussions the happens behind/after the post.
And in this new layout, that aroma is totally lost.
Get the forum in text mode, get the innovation coming; new users not dumb enough to search for deals now a days…
And for those pinned post which was pointed out, make a separate tab for that, people will visit according their own will, no force attached…
going to next page was way better than this auto load based on scroll. and this design takes the essence of being a forum , if i can check every deal by searching for deals or going to deals then whats the use of forum ?? previously we had option to view both as deals and forum text based but now its only deals view which is not only childish and immature but takes more space ,time and energy. Why complicate things unnecessarily ?
This new theme and layout is messy,old one was decent could have changed just colour scheme and few basic changes.

There’s hardly any visible difference in the given 3 layouts.
3rd one I see that the hotness Meter is in between however 1&2 I can’t spot any difference. Seems I need to get my eyes checked. 
Offtopic suggestion, please provide us option to upload product pic directly while posting a new hot deal.
