Good news: Now LED bulbs may cost only Rs 55

Here is a good news for the common man as the price of LED bulbs has dropped to Rs54.90 in the latest bid, informed the Minister of State with Independent Charge for Power, Coal, New and Renewable Energy Piyush Goyal.

“Delighted to announce that LED bulb procurement price has dropped to Rs 54.90 in latest bid. 83% reduction from Rs 310 just 20 months back”, he tweeted.

The watt of energy saving bulb has also increased from 7W to 9W.

“83% price reduction achieved while keeping world class specifications and enhancing wattage from 7W to 9W”, the minister informed.

It is pertinent to mention here that LED bulbs have become quite popular in recent time because of their good quality light and higher efficiency.
