There is no such topic like official rooting and unofficial rooting.
There is a way of unlocking boot-loader officially or unofficially. Official unlocking bootloader is something like you are taking permission from the manufacturer and unofficial means you are unlocking bootloader by changing or modify ROM files.

There is a difference
Official root can be done within the OS (Security > Root For developer Roms) itself and it won’t break OTA just like we root CyanogenMod without flashing SuperSU

yes but that is for the developer rom only, those are pre-rooted roms.

Nope, they aren’t pre-rooted (Once you are ready, xiaomi downloads Root binaries from their servers as OTA and flash via stock recovery)
Its just that we can root officially even for this we need unlock bootloader

Hi, I am thinking to ROOT my RedMi Note Prime Because of following Reasons :-

1) I want to record my Mobile screen but this feature is not available for android version 4.4.4

2) Some Apps r using much space and I can’t move them into my SD

3) Some Apps r not compatible with my mobile Version

If possible then I want to use 32GB SD Card as my internal memory

GetReady bro helped me in rooting my mobile but inmid my wifi connection lost.
I have downloaded SuperSu and TWRP files.
Now my mobile showing 8 options like install,wipe etc
I m now on my bro’s mobile data.

@dhoni007 currently are you in mi stock recovery ? Then first install supersu file from recovery, Then install twrp

@dhoni007 Afaik with mi stick recovery you have to rename the files name update.zip to flash it

kisi root test karne wala aap se test karo root hua ya nahi, agar nahi hai tau phir se SuperSU file ko flash karna parega

Normally switch on karo bhai, pehele check kar lete hai rooted hai ya nahi, phir uske baad phir se recovery me jayenge

Haa, nahi tau un 8 option me se “reboot” me click karo then “system”

@dhoni007 so device is not rooted, Have you downloaded the supersu file ?

Put it in a folder from where you can import it easily (only supersu file) now come back to recovery mode again

Look, copy the supersu file in your phone, then come back to recovery mode, Select “Install” from that all 8 options, then search that supersu file and install it, That’s it
