Youbroadband 12mbps connection Pune (other cities probably have better plans) @ 1122 (25gb fair usage, after which you get 1mbps), available in select cities

yup even i have used it in navi mumbai, excellent service and cheap too

I recommend dimers to not go for youbroadband. They took 1 month to tell me that they can’t install at our location, that too after their representative came and saw the location 2 days after I applied. Their represenatives say they will come tomorrow/day after tomorrow etc.. saying crap reasons like can’t find equipment. They took my cheque at the time of application, but bothered to return it back only after 3 months. It’s another matter I stopped the cheque payment as soon as they told me they can’t install. And they have guts to ask me if they can try installing the connection again, before they returned the cheque. This is my experience with YouBroadband Chennai. I’m happy with airtel BB now, although a bit expensive relatively

for me, they came home and gave promotional offer 1400 for 7mnth(320kbps plan), +700rs refundable deposit for modem, but yup they took 1week for installation my unkle just need to chk, forward mail, no heavy work so this plan is great 4 him, but still wen i go there it gives constant 50-60kbps download speed

tikona is having nationwide 2mbps UL without FUP at 1k, which certainly is a great plan. People should check it out. Dont know whether they lock connection to single device or not and whether it requires web based/ browser based logging-in (which will make it difficult to use it on mobiles and other devices simultaneously)

Also reliance wired ADSL broadband has 1k pm plan for 1mbps UL with no FUP.

even in US, they block your connection/choke it to a lower bandwidth if they find more traffic from your connection (especially when you use torrents/peer to peer sharing). Comcast / Yahoo and many others were doing it. But you can apologize and get it re instated once /twice.

If there was no Fair Usage Policy, people would have killed internet in India !
Even if you want to know a product features, you do an youtube search than a normal websearch !

I don’t know about You broadband, but when i was just surfing through the reviews…its clear that only minimum number of people are recommending this…Many have commented this is the worst broadband ….even i’m very impressed with their plan details….its really great for the price…but as per the review, many reported that they have given false promises and most of the time, the internet will be down and the main highlight is, it has the worst customer service itseems…so beware guys…i’m happy with my BSNL broadband…haha…:)

well i agree in the US they choke speeds but we must remember their broadband speeds even after choking are fast enough..FUP is a new introduced thing say around a year back before that net in india use to work without FUP only

thanks again for all the feedback. I believe a lot of people also swear by bsnl broadband speeds….but being a government thing, I’m reluctant to go there. The staff is probably not technical enough to understand connection issues. And for bill payment issues, you face the typical govt behavior of being moved from table to table

locked to 3 devices… I discontinued Tikona as I moved and recently got an email stating that there z no FUP.

Bhai now no such issues. You don’t have to go anywhere.
You can apply for BSNL broadband online, Pay bills online (have been doing that since more than one year now), submit request online for change of broadband plan and also submit billing complaints online.

cool, I have a bsnl landline, if bsnl falls cheaper, I might just switch over….had it about 3 years back and at that time I faced those issues. But I also won’t mind giving this one a try …..12 mbps sounds tempting….and having 1 mbps unlimited after that is sweet

BSNL has good plans, atleast for those whose data consumption is moderate. Check out their plans.
Go for combo-plan, so that you don’t have to pay extra rental for your phone.

I have BBGFN500 plan. In this plan Speed is 2MbPS, download limit just 1.5 GB per month but night usage is free. So i use torrent only at night. Plus i get 175 calls free every month. Net i pay 500 minus 20% (discount to govt employees)= 400, 400+service tax= approx 450/- per month.

If you can’t use govt employee discount, there’s another scheme too. Pay for 10 months in advance and get 2 extra months free.

In faridabad i have to 1400rs excluding tax for 2mb/sec ……………

for 30gb than the speed is 256kb/sec, its like hell………………………….:-(
