Who told you that? Paytm is funded by Alibaba a chinese company. But paytm is not a Chinese company. You can trust on this.
First of all its our country’s treasury which govt is supposed to use for overall devolpment in all sectors and I don’t get it why the hell are u upset so much about if people can and are donating out of their own will who the f*** are u to question them?? and atleast in todays world its little things like these which help people to get in touch with their humane nature..and then there are guys like u who do have problem with that also and want every bloody thing to be done by govt..oh they have so much money..right why the hell should i give my lollypop..

There are many crowdfunding pages in developed economies everywhere around the world where the public funds or donates money for veterans, homeless, victims of natural tragedies/terror attacks etc. But In India, we like to blame the government for almost everything without ever realising that WE should also be having some sort of responsibility and an urge to help those in need. Learn to support humble initiatives regardless of whoever is promoting.

But its next to impossible for those families to come out of their situation, their loss is immeasurable in monetary terms, so this is jut a diversion of their interest, but doesnt actually move them from their situation

Paytm will collect the funds and make donation in its name. It will get 50% of the money back in the form of tax benefits. It will not pass on this benefit to the actual person who donated. So every such donation is a source for profit for Paytm.

Donation goes in our name and also paytm gives us receipt of it , and we can claim tax benifits for our donation via paytm by giving pan no. While donating.
Paytm cannot claim it as donation given by them.
And also dont think paytm has earned any income till now on which it has to pay income tax, they are in too much losses due to promotional schemes/offers

All those who are blaming why the government isn’t giving money, here’s what I think
The government will give some amount like 20-50 lacs. Already a lot of state governments have announced it like UP 25 Lacs, Bihar 36 Lacs etc.
Can the Government give 1 crore or 2 crores?
Sure, they can but they don’t. Why? Because such a huge sum can become a motivation for some. There are people who kill themselves for insurance.
Our army has millions of soldiers, like all of us, some of them will be depressed, some will be having family trouble, some will be having big dreams for their kids and getting 1 or 2 crores for dying might sound attractive and that’s not good. You, me, our government, no one wants that! Money is important but it should not be a huge sum that some people sacrifice their lives so that their family can have a better future with that money.
I think the current scenario is fine where state governments are giving 20-50 lacs. Plus, we citizens can contribute 15-20 lacs to each of our martyrs.
One thing that our government should do is that they should take care of the education of children and should give a government job to a family member.
This is a personal opinion. Like all normal people, I might be wrong here in some ways. No disrespect to anyone.

OK…. After reading all the comments I have to say somethings.
1) Unlike a disaster reliefe situations where money can directly save lives and help improve situation, here money can’t bring our Martyrs. Those families need our mental support now… not our money right now.
2) By donating we are indirectly confirming that our Government is either incapable of providing for soldiers families or just doesn’t care enough.
3) If donating to this cause make us feel good…feel great then we should admit that. And not pretend their families desperately need our money.
I have searched internet for website of the organisation CRPF wife’s Welfare Organisation where the donation is going…
But found nothing except few mentions.
