They cheaped out on processor. Replaced Snapdragon with MediaTek.
Xiaomi is banned from launching MediaTek processors in India so we might see new variant with snapdragon 625 or 652/653.

Don’t compare two smartphones on the basis of specs. Redmi note 3 is much better than Coolpad 5.coolpad 5 is running on 617 which is less efficient and heats insanliy.

Coolpad brand is also reliable as I m using CN3 lite from last 11 months without any issues
On my experience basis I have purchased now CN5

Don’t try to nitpick.
They are the ones who made us to use High end mobiles in budget prices. Finally there is no phone that is perfect.
Let me rephrase, As compared to Motorola/Samsung, Mi phones are very delicate.. the Mi service center even charged money to confirm whether the phone was physically damaged or not.
They will charge only if your device is not under warranty or if there’s any water or physical damage to the phone
If there’s an issue with the device, they will do it free of cost (minus the above exceptions)
I have atleast 4-5 friends who bought Mi phones, none of them lasted for more than 1 1/2 year. It starts creating one problem or other. Better pay 1-2k more and go with Leonovo or Moto phones.
Only their original Mi3 was built to last. All their new models like Mi4, Mi5, Redmi 3s, Note 3 have mediocre build quality so you have to be careful in handling them as just a small drop will cause a visible mark/scratch/dent.
in my case there was no visible dent on the phone, i don’t know how service center people identify the physical damage.
They have sensors in the phone to find and record it. it is in all phones and even in hard disk.
Coolpad note 5 is better deal with 4 GB RAM
