Even i have income proof but online they rejected every time, boss koi jugad chaiye credit card ke liye to verna nai milta
As a community, let's be responsible enough and not encourage student credit cards. Students do not need credit cards. Students do not need to maintain their CIBIL. Students do not need offers and all on shopping websites.
There is no service/product that accepts "only credit card". Nearly everything in India supports debit card/upi.
Students are not earning as such, which is why they're highly likely to fall in debt trap if given credit cards. For master/pg students, this might be different though, but for undergrads/school students, parents should be the one giving them options.

Students must not use credit cards.

The kotak card 100% FD based. Please include all the relevant information. This looks like a pointless article.

Irrelevant thread
Afaik it is nearly impossible for a student to get credit card directly on the basis of cibil as they have no source of income and that is why bank will never give them cc ..
Students should not use credit card and instead focus on study

Banks wanted to Earn Money from Every Aspect. They are in Business to earn Money by Offering Credit Cards, Various types of Loans, and Various A/c Charges.
Read your statement once again, if the student doesn't have any income why bank or anyone should give them the Credit Card or Loan? The government gives them Scholarships (For Poor, Eligible Scholar Students) to Manage their Educational and LIving Expenses!)
These things are like Extra Money for them, They will spend it and forget it and why would banks have to bear this, is this social work or is it beneficial for society? Banks give Loans/Credit Cards to ONLY those People who are Liable or have Background Income sources then only they pass the Application of CC or Loan.
If you have Credit Card (Forget Honest Money Management People who use their credit card people wisely), and now consider why banks are offering Life Time Free Credit Cards without any charges and for that, they have to bear various charges like documentation. Salary of employees, IT and Many things even they have to reward you with various offers, cashback its because someday they would want you to fall into the trap and thus they can incur them a huge penalty and in most cases there CIBIL will File Suite and Then Legally bank can recover there 4x money by recovery agents! In this, way they are giving LTF and Credit Cards!

Actually bhai the problem is a lot of students can't afford their education fee and they take loans for that purpose. 🙂 Do students take credit cards? Yes, rich parents give their kids credit cards. It's just not fair to overburden a student with such things. 100% focus should be on study only, that's what I personally feel. They should be given exposure to finance management etc. A student needs to spend some threshold amount to get annual fee waiver. Those are the negative points. Credit cards can give a good cibil score if properly used. And it will help them once they step in to real life situation. They ll know how to manage money. And parents can have the real control on their expenditures. Honestly if a kid is a rotten one harshest rules can contain it from doing mischief. We all read about how students wipe parents' account for pubg n what not. 🙂 All these credit cards have bad rewards rates and that's good. And all these things can be achieved via a simple debit card as well. I am super grateful to my parents that they hadn't given me financial liberty. Today I play with some money, stock market, back in 2005-2007 I was given 3₹ daily only to buy parle-g. And I would save those money. If 5₹ was given then I had to return that 2₹. At that time 5₹ used to fetch 3-4-5 panipuris and a small cake, which are sold in local panwala shop. My first debit card was given in 2010-11. My father used to give 100₹ to fill that money deposit form n give it to the bank cashier. 🙂 And since online transaction was not that popular I could not think of a way to use it online. UPI and debit cards are better n safer ways to teach kids about finance stuff. @atx88

Well, that's the point you are are falling into. I am a student, and I know your statement, "it is nearly impossible for a student to get credit card directly on the basis of cibil as they have no source of income and that is why bank will never give them cc" is entirely wrong regardless of my age.
I had my cumulative savings from festivals and opened an FD, and the bank gave me my first credit card against it. By the time I received my first freelance pay cheque(during bachelor's only), I already had 750+ CIBIL, and another bank had already issued me my second CC against C2C. In fact, it is a pretty common method for "adults" to revamp their CIBIL after mishaps in the payments.
And it is not like if I had no CC, I would automatically become sincere and crack UPSC. Apart from study, it is a side knowledge; some likes to read novel, watch cricket/TV and some preference to read stuff like finance.
