BSNL has reduced the validity of four of its prepaid plans that cost Rs 107, Rs 197, Rs 397, and Rs 797. All the benefits that users get with these plans haven’t changed but the validity of these plans has been slightly reduced by BSNL, which is as good as raising the price of their recharge plans. For starters, the BSNL plan of Rs 107 which previously had a validity of 40 days will now last only 35 days. Similarly, the Rs 197 BSNL prepaid plan will now have a validity of just 70 days instead of 84 days as earlier. Read on for more details on all these plans and the price hikes by BSNL.

We are back at it again; another telecom company raising the prices of its prepaid recharge plans just like Airtel and Jio. Although BSNL hasn’t directly increased the prices of its plans, reducing their validity is nothing different too, don’t you think the same? So, as bad as it sounds, it’s true that BSNL has hiked its recharge plan prices too.
Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited or BSNL has been one of the most affordable ISPs for the common man, but now it seems that even this state-led telecom company couldn’t protect itself from the inflation rate and falling profits. Without actually increasing the recharge prices, BSNL has reduced the validity of its prepaid plans, making them more expensive. All these BSNL recharge plans that got their validity reduced target different users and budgets. Ranging from Rs 107 to Rs 797, these plans do offer the same data and calling benefits as before but with a reduced validity period.
The cheapest plan on the list is the Rs 107 plan that many users generally opt for to get incoming call validity, with some data too. Coming with a validity of 35 days now, the Rs 107 BSNL plan had its validity reduced by 5 days as the plan used to come with a validity period of 40 days. Here are all the benefits that this plan comes with:
3GB of Data
200 minutes of voice calls
BSNL Tunes
Validity of 35 days.
Next, we have the BSNL plan of Rs 197 that got its validity reduced to 70 days. Previously, it came with a validity of 84 days, which won’t be the case anymore. Check out all of its benefits mentioned below:
2GB of data per day
Unlimited calling
100 SMS/day
Zing for 15 days
Validity of 70 days.
The Rs 397 prepaid plan by BSNL now comes with a reduced validity of 150 days against the 180 days validity that it used to come with earlier. The rest offerings of this BSNL recharge plan are the same as given below:
2GB of data per day
Unlimited calling
100 SMS/day
Free PRBT service and lokdhun content
Validity of 150 days
The last plan on the list is the BSNL recharge plan worth Rs 797 which had its validity reduced to 300 days. Before the price hike, this BSNL plan used to come with a validity of 365 days, or a year. Here are all of its benefits:
2GB of data per day
Unlimited calling
100 SMS/day
Free PRBT service and lokdhun content
Validity of 300 days
So these are all the BSNL prepaid plans that got a price hike or validity reduced by the telecom company. Do you think this reduction in validity would make users switch to some other ISP? I think that this is debatable, as even with the increased prices, BSNL recharge plans are still more affordable for many. Do let us know your thoughts on the same in the comments section.

i am using BSNL for voice calls and JIO for Data usage, i am holding BSNL sim for a long time as it is linked with all accounts and verification, if this is the case for BSNL keep on rising the tariff , then it is better to switch to other convenient network for just incoming calls, at the introductory time, we don't even have the annual charges for SIM validity, after that we are forced to pay Rs.397 for 365 days,, and it become Rs.397 for 200 days,, now it became Rs.397 for 150 days..,if the Government network is unable to keep down the Price , how can a common man will sustain with existing network,, people are not blind watching the price increase, it should have the impact soon and after that they will explain the cause for the fall of Network.,
bsnl is useless. b coz sometimes net totally stopped working and also H not showing u cant depends on it as a primary sim for internet online transactions
below is my BSNL status, let me know if I need to recharge it to keep the number active (I need it just for incoming SMS)
Status: GRACE2
Validity: 22/05/2022
Credit Expiry: 29/05/2022
Deactivation: 09/05/2023
Can some tell me what's the problem happening with me..
When I am in room it have full range for my BSNL card but don't work internet
When i go to outside of room internet work.
Great!.. WTF!..
Voice voucher is different & Plan voucher is different.
& You need to recharge both. really??
Rs. 197 plan
After 15 days, you need to recharge with voice voucher to activate outgoing. only plan validity will be there.
same thing for Rs. 397 plan as well.
I can only say WTF plan is this? Just frustrated because my dad wants to stick with BSNL, as he thinks it is tele service provided by govt itself,. I tried many times to explain him everything about these bullshit plans. But still he wants BSNL only. 😡 frustrated to do recharge against my will.
I had ported to BSNL for their affordable plans but since they are continuously reducing the validity and also no incoming calls and sms after the validity is over so I shifted to Jio which at least gives incoming calls and sms after validity period is over. Bye bye bsnl.
still about (~) 50% cheaper than competition
