Sovereign Gold Bonds 2024 Important Dates / Things to Know
The first 2024 gold bond issue date is from 12th February to 16th February
It is also the 4th series SGB 2023 - 2024

The interest rate (fixed) that investors can earn on their SGB is 2.5% per year
The issue price for SGB 2024 opening on 12th Feb is yet to be announced
The gold bonds issued in 2016 are also going to complete a tenor period of 8 years this year

The issue price of the SGBs will be less by ₹50 per gram for the investors who subscribe online and pay through digital mode.
A Sovereign Gold Bond is probably the best gold investment one can make and there are several reasons to it. First, there’s no GST, no capital gains on maturity, and no making charges and you get an additional 2.5% fixed interest from RBI upon your investment (on top of the natural appreciation of your gold value)
The amount generated from this 2.5% interest is taxable. However, the other benefits of SGB cover up for this and ensure your investment remains profitable.
You can even use SGB as collateral for several loans. Speaking of loans, you might want to consider reading our old but super valuable article on Home Loans and How to Save on EMI
You can buy Sovereign Gold Bonds both online and offline. To buy SGB online, there are several options including these:

The price of the upcoming SGB subscription on the 12th of February is yet to be announced. The issue price is based on a simple average of the closing price of gold of 999 purity, published by the India Bullion and Jewellers Association Limited (IBJA) for the last three working days of the week preceding the subscription period.
The government of India issues SGB several times a year. The 4th series of the SGB 2023 to 2024 will be from 12th February to 16th February as mentioned above. The next SGB issue date would probably be in June 2024 as been happening for the last 2 years. We will be sure to update the issue price of the SGB 2024 (February) once it is out. So be sure to check back soon.
