Realme launched its Realme 10 Pro Plus and 10 Pro smartphones at the end of 2022 and the 10 Pro+ has been the talk of the streets ever since. The Realme 10 Pro Plus comes with a curved OLED display, the only curved display phone under Rs 25,000! This is reason enough for all the hype that this mobile phone got till now. But the question is whether it deserves that hype or not. Is the Realme 10 Pro Plus worth buying? We will answer this question very simply in this full review of Realme’s 10 Pro+.

Realme 10 Pro Plus Full Review with Camera Samples

The Realme 10 Pro Plus comes with the MediaTek Dimensity 1080 chipset, a 108 MP primary camera sensor, a curved OLED 120 Hz display, and more. Looking at the specifications, the Realme 10 Pro+ seems to be a compelling smartphone. But should you purchase it? Is this mobile worth Rs 25,000 the price that it asks for? Let’s find out!

Realme 10 Pro Plus: Curved Display Phone Under Rs 25,000!

When we talk about a smartphone that comes with the most stunning display, which brand comes to your mind? Samsung? Apple? Well forget about Apple and Samsung too doesn’t give many options around this range, right? But what if we tell you that the Realme 10 Pro Plus has managed to beat the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra’s display in some aspects? Would you believe it?

The chin on the Realme 10 Pro Plus is a tad smaller than that on the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra. Also, the Realme 10 Pro+ display’s 2160 Hz high-frequency dimming technology is not something that you get with the S22 Ultra. Now compare the prices of both these smartphones, one that costs around Rs 1 lakh and the other costs Rs 25,000. Props to Realme for making the best display smartphone under Rs 25000!

But let’s keep this comparison aside and see how good the display on the Realme 10 Pro Plus smartphone is. It is a curved display that Realme calls ‘Curved Vision Display’ which comes with a 120 Hz fast refresh rate and 360 Hz of touch sampling rate, ideal for gaming. As mentioned earlier, the screen on the Realme 10 Pro+ 5G comes with 2160 Hz PWM dimming technology. What does this mean? If you would ever use your smartphone in the dark, its display would start flickering which in turn would damage your eyesight in the long run. This is where the Pulse-Width Modulation (PWM) technology comes into play. It reduces this flickering issue in a display, making it safer to use for years. Once again, Realme took a great initiative which will now be followed by other brands too.

Realme 10 Pro Plus Curved Display

Not to mention, those extra small chin & bezels along with a curved display look astonishing on the Realme 10 Pro Plus. It is the only smartphone that comes with a curved display under Rs 25,000. And if you are worried about some accidental touches because of the curved screen, don’t worry. Realme has optimized its UI nicely to prevent accidental touches and after using it for a few days, I can say that it has no accidental touches whatsoever. So all in all, the Realme 10 Pro Plus is hands down the best display phone in this price range.

Is Realme 10 Pro Plus Good for Gaming? Realme 10 Pro+ Performance Review

If someone asks whether or not the Realme 10 Pro Plus is the best gaming phone, the answer would be negative. Nope, this phone is not the fastest one under 25K and it doesn’t even target that user base. If your priority is performance, you might want to look at some better options like the Xiaomi Redmi K50i, Motorola Edge 30, or the iQOO Z6 Pro, which are available at discounted prices too.

The Realme 10 Pro Plus comes with the MediaTek Dimensity 1080 chipset which is almost as powerful as the Snapdragon 778G. In terms of ANTUTU scores, the MediaTek Dimensity 1080 chipset stands tall at 528,313. It is an acceptable score at a price of Rs 25000 but definitely not the best.

Realme 10 Pro Plus Gaming Performance

The Realme 10 Pro Plus would easily handle your day-to-day usage and you would not have any trouble even while playing some high-end games at medium to high settings. Also, Realme has done a great job with its RAM management as the 10 Pro Plus keeps recent apps active even after hours of keeping the phone ideal. Moreover, the device comes with UFS 2.2 storage which makes app opening really fast and smooth.

So if we have to sum up the performance part of the Realme 10 Pro Plus in a sentence, we can say that it performs good enough for everyone, but gamers may not be satisfied with it. If you are wondering whether the phone heats or not, well the MTK Dimensity 1080 has not shown any such signs yet but the same cannot be fully confirmed yet thanks to the winter season.

Realme 10 Pro Plus 5G Battery: Best Battery Backup Phone Under Rs 25000

Realme 10 Pro+ Battery Backup

Flagship phones generally come with a 4000-4500 mAh battery and well, who am I kidding, they do not come with a charger. But the combination of a 5000 mAh battery and a 67W charger that you get on the Realme 10 Pro Plus is just magical. Also, the Realme 10 Pro Plus is probably one of the best Android smartphones if you need the highest battery backup. It gives a screen on time of around 8 hours, which is a way more than other Android phones that last hardly around 6 to 7 hours.

Now for the technical part, the MediaTek Dimensity 1080 chipset that is used in this mobile phone is based on a 6nm process and thus it is very power efficient. So needless to say, the Realme 10 Pro+ has the best battery backup for you to keep using that phone for long periods of time.

Realme 10 Pro Plus Camera Sensor and Picture Quality

The Realme 9 Pro Plus came with a 50 MP primary sensor with OIS and the Realme 10 Pro Plus comes with a 108 MP primary camera sensor, without OIS. So what is OIS? Does it make any difference? Trust me, it makes a huge difference and that’s why the Realme 10 Pro Plus’ camera is not as good as that of the Realme 9 Pro Plus.

OIS stands for Optical Image Stabilization, which is a piece of technology that makes your smartphone camera more stable, giving you better picture quality and video quality too. How does it work? In simple terms, it is a hardware piece that keeps moving with your hands while you hold your mobile phone. Thus, any shaky or blurry images are prevented by a camera that has OIS.

So no matter how big the 108 MP sensor sounds, the camera quality in the Realme 10 Pro Plus is a slight downgrade compared to what we saw in the Realme 9 Pro Plus. Even though daylight shots are not so bad in the newer device, when it comes to low light picture quality, it struggles quite a bit. Also, the ultra-wide angle camera on the Realme 10 Pro Plus is an 8 MP sensor that doesn’t give us sharp images and in dark conditions, it’s almost useless. For the macro lens, let’s pretend we did not see that.

The selfie camera on the Realme 10 Pro Plus is a 16 MP sensor that captures sharp selfies with decent colors. So all in all, Realme’s 10 Pro+ won’t disappoint a new user with its overall camera performance, but it still feels a bit dull in front of the Realme 9 Pro Plus that came with OIS.

Realme 10 Pro Plus User Interface Android Version, Software Updates & Bloatware

Realme UI 4.0 in Realme 10 Pro Plus

The Realme 10 Pro Plus comes with the Realme UI 4.0 based on Android 13 out of the box. Also, the brand has promised to give 2 years of OS and 3 years of security updates too. So in terms of longevity, the Realme 10 Pro+ shows a promising front. Also, it is one of the very few smartphones that are coming with Android 13 out of the box, not sure what has happened to other brands.

So does that mean that the Realme 10 Pro Plus has the best UI? Now that, my friend, is a problem. You might have seen everyone calling out Xiaomi for their MIUI being full of ads and vulgar recommendations, right? Realme, somehow, got inspired by the same and took it a bit too far. There are two dedicated sections in the Realme 10 Pro Plus called ‘Hot Games’ and ‘Hot Apps’ that would show you the worst possible ads you would imagine.

These ads and app recommendations were really painful to see and many big YouTubers called Realme out and thankfully, the brand has looked into the same and provided a software update too. Although the ads and app recommendations haven’t stopped completely, they are still far better than what the phone initially came with. Also, Realme says that the same experience would be made even better with time.

Talking about the Realme UI 4.0 or basically the latest ColorOS, it is the same feature-rich UI that we have known Realme and Oppo smartphones for. Although it’s a bit heavy UI, the Realme 10 Pro Plus runs it smoothly thanks to its MediaTek Dimensity 1080 chipset. So if you are one of those people who can manage to see some ads to get more features and capabilities with your mobile phone, the Realme 10 Pro Plus is made just for you.

Realme 10 Pro Plus Design: Slim, Beautiful & Plastic

Realme 10 Pro Plus Design

Realme is known to make some of the best-designed smartphones that feel comfortable and premium in your hands. The Realme 10 Pro Plus is not different with its 7.7mm thickness and 172 grams of weight. It is indeed a really lightweight mobile phone and you may even forget that it is there in your pocket. But the problem here is that it has a plastic back which is a fingerprint magnet. Plastic in this price range doesn’t feel premium and when you pair it with some shiny/glossy colors, it just doesn’t fit that ‘good-looking for everyone’ criteria.

No doubt, the Realme 10 Pro Plus looks good and feels really nice in hands too, but its plastic back definitely doesn’t feel as premium as a glass back would. Also, since design is subjective, I’d like to know your opinions for the same.

Realme 10 Pro Plus Pros and Cons

Now that we have looked at all the important aspects of this latest Realme mobile phone, let’s put together all of its pros and cons. This will give you a better understanding of how the 10 Pro+ ranks in front of other smartphones available in the market.

It's gotten Expensive ,now the 15-20K would be of Moto and above 25K-35K, better ones like Pixel,S22.Still better than Redmi 12 series .

As people above 25K can easily expand budget/wait for sale.

Agreed!!
I'd say waiting for big sales would be worth it as Realme phones generally get really cheap after a few months of their launch and if someone gets the Realme 10 Pro Plus around 20K, it would be a steal deal.

Putting 20k plus in a phone without OIS is plain foolish.

Realme 10 pro or Redmi note 12 pro ?

Redmi Note 12 Pro is a better phone overall but you also have to pay way more for it. So if you are fine with its price, then you can go with the Redmi Note 12 Pro. The Realme 10 Pro is almost the same as the Realme 9 Pro from last year, but its display's bezels are very less and this makes it look really beautiful. And also, Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro comes with Android 12 out of the box and the company will provide only 2 years of software updates.

So in Redmi Note 12 Pro, you will get Android 14 at the end and in Realme 10 Pro, you will get updates till Android 15. Not to mention, Xiaomi's smartphones have a bad history of getting bricked after updating to the latest software. So make sure to consider everything.
