But buying cards in denomination of 1000 will leave you with a little amount of money in every card, isn’t it? Thank God one can buy Amazon eGVs for as low as 10 bucks. That’s how you make use of the remaining amount in every card.
Last year Amex cards were working with Mobikwik. So I was able to load unused cash there. Now Amazon eGV is an option. Or you may buy Axis card from Amazon and has many more options.

You could also buy Axis bank visa gift card from amazon with the whole amount so that it can be used anywhere. I usually do that. 
Shipping is fast and card comes preactivated.
