help requried: suggestion between Bandridge and Storite

Seeking advice and Dimers’ review from personal experience on these brands and products.

Much appreciate any pointers !

Requirement is of Micro USB Cable for probable use with a Nokia X6 and/or Motorola XT1022.

Brands narrowed in on are: Bandridge and Storite.

Undecided on:

1] Length of the cable.
2] If primary use is for charging from wall socket, then does USB 3 still hold value proposition over USB2 ?
2] Whether the cable/s endure data transfer too despite regular use for charging.

Somehow Amzer products did not give the confidence when one researched, so presently not actively considering it, but am flexible.

since it is a gift, I would rather not take something that might develop a snag

Bandridge BCL4902 [2 meter length] versus BCL4901 [1 meter] or the even shorter one ??
[ Need for error free operation over a longer period precedes flexibility offered by length ]

Storite too has similar options.

Thanks for all the help !

Strangely Storite products are not getting stocked on most sites, despite ‘SaiTech IT’ aggressively pricing it on some portals.

The reviews of almost all brands and all products have a few customers pointing to an odd lemon (connector size/quality, DoA) or device failure after few weeks/months, so I am all the more clueless

I have used bandridge USB 3 cable for hard disk and its quality is pretty awesome. I am hoping it would follow same quality check for other cables as well.

For USB 3, I don’t think you can use USB 3 with phone as pin for USB 3 is different than USB 2 micro usb which will be used in phone.

I don’t other brand you named, but bluerigger is also a good company and amazon India was giving 30-60% off many wires of it. Check it still have in stock.

Rest, there is a brand called linketek or somethin . I purchased it from eBay at 170-250 rs something for 5 metre cable (there was not much price difference between in 3m and 5m)..I was satisfies with the quality, I mean of course its not par with vandridge but bandrudge will cost you over 4-500 for 2-3metre itself. And nope, it was not thode cheap Chinese crap.
With eBay coupons from freecharge you can get it at a good price.

Yes, the cables can be used for data transfer as well.

I have not used amzer but I guess amzer also have good parameters for quality. I mean bandridge is a premium brand but still amzer should also be fine for regular use. Mine linetrk last for around 7-9 months before I accidentally kept a sharp heavy thing on it which tore it apart .

well if you have used a similar category product from the brand in recent times, I get much more confidence to try their micro USB cable

my stupidity https://cdn0.desidime.com/Placeholders/No-Image-Available.png not aware of the simple fact!
so there is no way to use USB3 throughput even on MOTO E

really sorry about that damaged cable Tushar bhai and thanks for reminding me ’bout Bluerigger.
Do you also have any direct experience off Bluerigger?

unfortunately the usual sites like AMZN-IN, FlipK or SnapD are not having anything on Linetek (in USB to phone cable)

I assume, you mentioning this same brand Bluerigger on Amazon https://cdn3.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_sad.gif http://www.amazon.in/s/ref=bl_sr_electronics?ie...

again no joy!

Tushar, in the 8-9 months that you did use the Linetek cable (I do not know the device or frequency of use), it did work as it was supposed to be, right?

I think for me, the fear of ebay or shopclues does not let me use those sites,
else if you say even Linetek works as it should then they do seem value for money http://www.amazon.in/s/ref=bl_sr_electronics?ie...

Thanks again mate for all the details https://cdn1.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_smile.gif

all i need to do is now find places to buy, will check few shops too.
the Bandrigde 2m cable www.ebay.in/itm/271621…10, should cost 350-400 ??

This Poona fellow has a local physical shop too and in the shop the card rate for the same is 350Rs.

any further pointers on any other VFM options are welcome and thanked.
or where to buy the relevant item of Linetek or Bluerigger. [sorry for being so lazy : ( ]

I have not used bluerigger but this is not an Indian brand and have presense in Western countries too, so quality should be fine, rather as per feedback it seems more like a premium brand like bandridge .
I purchased mine linetek from ebay around an year ago. This is just a 2-300 worth item, you can take risk with eBay… Just keep a note of feedback of the sellers and avoid buying from a new seller ..else there should not be any problem with the transaction ..I used it for at least 6-7 times a week on two handsets and I needed a little longer one with which I could use the phone on bed too https://cdn1.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_biggrin.gif ..it served my purpose, charging as well as data connectivity …if you looking for premium quality, then go with bandridge or bluerigger , avoid linetek in that case.

This Seller is selling 1.83m (as per pic) at 90+30/50
m.ebay.in/itm?itemId=131364383441

Call him up n ask for length and other options (length)..eBay couponsnfrom freecharge gives 100 off on 110, so ask him if you can some other product listed at 110+ and swap the order (as 110 should be excluding shipping – the general tnc of eBay coupons)..

Another option (which I use): get multiple cables (don’t have to be third party cables, I get stock Sony/ Samsung accessories from local stores) and keep one dedicated for charging (plugged into the charger at all times) , one for data transfer (plugged permanently into the rear USB port on my PC) etc. I keep one permanently in my backpack too (which isn’t your priority). Digital signals are ones and zeros, they either get through the cable or they don’t, without caring much about the quality of the cable. What matters is durability, and my method achieves that by spreading out the stresses and wear over several cables. Eventually accidents will happen (off topic but relevant: one of my sennheiser headphone cables suffered my bulk when it came under the foot of my chair 😞) and it’s easier to replace relatively cheaper accessories when they go kaput.

hundred and one percent same purpose. the charging points/ wall sockets are far off.

and I again think that taking a direct feedback and value quotient I can still go for Linetek.

premium or snob appeal of phoren brand doesn’t appeal as much as real output.

Thanks really Tushar for that ebay item link and a very savvy advice on product swap https://cdn1.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_biggrin.gif

you must have got a thousand hiccups this past week as I surfed many sites and calculated the landed costs of many items off black Friday and Cyber Monday, had I bought the Amazon vouchers at 15-18% discount from you within time.

Of-course I hope to do that some day.
[I did buy something at http://bhphotovide...m/ and got it delivered within U.S. to an acquaintance’s place]

very very sound plan Mr_N and very relevant really.

can’t give Karma even though I soo desire. Some site restriction/ gap needed.

You know in-fact data transfer point about 0-1-0-1 is very true.
I was only scared that some reviewers got odd pieces whose connectors went loose or were too tight or stopped working.

This spares funda is great and I think all under 800-900/- if I can use dimer dimag

but do branded, stock Sony/ Samsung accessories come in varying lengths https://cdn1.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_confused.gif !

Hmm… Not sure about the availability of various lengths. All the cables I have are either 1m or 1.2m
Might have to do a bit of searching for longer stock options.

oh that’s okay, Thanks Mr_N https://cdn1.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_smile.gif !
If branded legit stuff does come in 3-4 feet range then its good enough for starters.

and I think this idea of a separate kit for travel versus car or at home is anyway a better plan.
[I used to have 2-3 chargers once upon a time with designated use. Like you said, one permanently at home]

to use with: hope this is fine

for some time those ganga-jamuna contraptions were fine.
But since now many of you recommended the Eveready adapter, I took two pieces.
The Apple charging adapter knock-off/original does work fine as of now.
[unsure if its OEM/real or not, because its a spare one from someone who does own an iPhone]

[besides ebay and shopclues. have checked ebay, but not many options for CoD]

I have many bandridge cables, the one you are talking about, is pretty good for 269 INR the charging and transfer is pretty good, the wire is kind of tangle free, thick and blue in color.

https://cdn0.desidime.com/attachments/photos/596346/medium/1798854GxvwlYe.jpg?1574783900

The tip is nickel plated and not gold plated. also i find the 2.0 M length quite useful when travelling.

hey thanks so much Narayan bhai for this first person account https://cdn1.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_smile.gif)

I suppose I have enough confidence in buying it here now (previous product was taken from someone who bought it in Europe) and can only hope that no need will arise to exercise service contract rights.
Not sure of the locations.

I suppose you are right that the length and slightly more girth makes it much simpler to use in certain scenario.

Gold anodising or plating does work but then this is not as much mission critical. Also, the actual data/ charge carrying material is the larger factor.
[Had once seen actual gold plated cables for audio being set-up with MK Speakers at an audiophiles man-cave. this is not that special use]

  • Narayan garu could you check if your product too is labelled as: Manufactured by: So and So Netherlands; but in reality the country of Origin is PRC.

I have no issues, the standards are maintained and I only found it funny that it was a bit misleading

just curious after seeing AMZN warehouse bar-code in the picture; was your purchase too ‘Amazon Fulfilled’ ?
If yes, did your product arrive in a flimsy polyethylene /HDPE bag too? I had hoped better delivery and now since they do not use boxes, I had hoped that the normal 2-3 ply corrugated sheet molded to form a box like shape will be the outer cover.

Sadly it was only in a carry bag and even the product had certain issue. As usual, they said they will only refund and not replace.

But to my dismay, despite taking note that I have to place a re-order, the second order got cancelled citing some guideline that this SKU in 1 Quantity per account/ phone number.

Now I am too disturbed and asked them to keep the refund cheque/ stop payment and also close my other orders, lets see.
