Thanks for the heads-up bro. I too had a couple of poor experiences with Pepperfry, did not buy afterwards. Even a very tempting deal which I happened to post, left me thinking but in the end I did not make a purchase. Lets see what dimers have to say on this…

That ratio will be changing soon the way they are going. They have started this scam of asking for a Dead on arrival certificate to be produced from an authorised service centre when you request a refund/replacement of a defective product. Given that most of the products available on their site are made-in-china knockoffs unlikely to ever have a service centre in-country, this would mean that the only way to get your money back would be to make the long trip to China, locate a service centre and get said DOA certificate. What a super scam, sirji

This is really sad. IMO a good online shop has to offer a perfect Return/Refund policy. Will be watching Shopclues & dimers feedback/suggestion…if we have a mandate, Shopclues will be there in the top slot..

Well, in theory, they have a perfect refund/return policy..no questions asked return if requested within 10 days. In practice, their so-called band of trust where they make all these promises is nothing but empty words. In my experience of 11 years with ecommerce sites, the first indication that one of our home-grown ecommerce sites is running out of steam is hostile customer care and evasion of basic responsibility.
Here’s a recent run-in I had with shopclues customer care on twitter https://twitter.com/GlassHousey/status/28860572…

The conversation there(Twitter) is disappointing to say the least. A few more such stories or suggestions by dimers, Shopclues had it.

My short story:

Order Date: 2 Dec 2012
What i bought : 23 items for Rs.1012-500= Rs.512 (applying Rs.500 discount code):-P
Received on : 11 Jan 2013 (only 6 items out of 23)

Called them 20times till now, sometime they don’t pick my call, mailed them 15times, but they some time don’t reply, and if reply only one same thing “sorry for inconvenience, we will ship withing 48 working hour” which never came.

and i’m still waiting for my rest of items, till 31st Jan if they will not send , i will cancel my order. https://cdn2.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_evil.gif

Add Greendust too…

They sell junk in name of Factory Seconds… The goods sold by them are not only Old, extensively used but also serviced/repaired many times… The customer care doesn’t exist at all… The numbers given on their site are unreachable.. 1800-102-3878 / 011-4349 1199

Factory Seconds doesn’t mean that an item is bought from scrap dealer and sold after little repairs… https://cdn3.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_twisted.gif
